Just got me a PS4 and hooked-up it up to my HDFury (first version) for use on a CRT monitor and eventually my CRT projector using a HDMI to DVI-D cable and no worky. What a buzzkill! I read that one may need a HDFury2 or HDFury3 as the original HDFury does DVI-D but not HDMI and the PS4 isn't DVI-D friendly. Just wondering if anyone can confirm this. Thanks!

How would the PS4 'know' ? Have you tried an offboard PSU into the Fury ?

I actually don't have the external power supply for the HDFury. I've actually had good luck with it in longer cable runs, keeping the HDFury close to the projector (using a long DVI-D cable and a short RGBHV cable). I just found that the PS4 is fine going from HDMI to DVI-D into my Lumagen VisionHDP, then out to a HDFury where it's converted to RGBHV and fed to my 1292Q. Though sans the video scaler it seems to be no dice, whereas my PS3 didn't have issues with such a configuration, allowing me to easily connect it to a CRT monitor. Time to try it on my VisionDVI and Runco IDP-980 which I use for video gaming. Very glad I didn't recently win an eBay auction for a HDFury2 as with the right video scalers it would seem the HDFury is still okay. Information from other sources indicates otherwise -- that the HDFury2 or newer is needed.
