So I just installed a LiMo-kit in my BD808s for laserdisc pleasure and the manual says I need software version v7.4 or higher. I fired it up anyway with software v7.2 but no line multiplier listed under picture tuning. Also, contrast modulation is listed in the main menu and not under picture tuning as the limo install manual suggests so some software differences exists.

I got an EPROM with Graphics 808s v7.61 software along with the limo. Will it work or what is the difference on a software level between data and graphics?

Projector inventory as follows if it makes any difference:
R7622686 vertical deflection
R762268S shift
R762719 RGB input + R762745 decoder sub board + LiMo
R7621055 second analog input
R762720 RGB driver
R7624845 contrast modulation
Software v7.2

V7.6 came in at least two eprom sizes you also need RWI 5.10 so it may not work with your control board.

Someone have a file *.bin of RWI v5.10?

I sold the limo kit at winny, before shipping I've tested the boards in my test chassis BG808s with v7.61/RWI 5.09 and it work.

I am sure you are right but RWI 5.10 is the recommended combination.

I believe this firmware only works in the bg808s.

Do you mean that graphics software can be used in data models or not?

Sorry, what is RWI?

Perhaps an easier question, does anyone have BD808s v7.4 or BD808s v7.41physical EPROM or ROM-file available?

V7.6 I believe only works in the BG808s.

There are at least two different eprom sizes with the same version of the firmware you need the right one for the control board you have. Both are physically the same size but have a different storage capacity. There is no harm in trying any V7.6 eprom in your BG808s control board it will either work or not.

RWI is Real World Interface and its another chip on the control board and its has a lable RWI and a Version number. Control firmware and RWI chips go together. Earlier versions of the firmware were more tolerant of different RWI versions the recommended combination is V7.6 firmware with V5.10 RWI although as Decibel points out RWI 5.09 should work.

So you need firmware V7.6 with either RWI v 5.10 or 5.09 and a BG808s control board.

I have the data, not the grahpics.

Do you mean that I can change just the control board to a grahpics with everything else being from a data, including the MEC tubes and everything? Is this the R7625111?

As I say to my knowledge the V7.6 only works in the BG808s.

Right, in this case I need the BD808s v7.4 or BD808s v7.41 ROM. Anyone has it?

Never tried a LIMO but as I remember it was a line doubler only and the reviews were not all that great...

PM Curt he might have one.

Considering the price and that it has no external cables, switches, remote controls and nickknacks, it looked like a good option. If the picture quality is rubbish, I'll just disable it and start saving up for a crystalio.

Finally manage to locate the IC programmer, find an DB25 cable and bought a gender changer to make it fit and fired it up with some fresh '90 vintage AMD EPROM circuits that arrived in the mail from Germany.

Stock data 7.2 + RWI 5.08 did not recognize the LiMo.
Graphics 7.61 + RWI 5.08 did only show garbage at statup and kept power cycling.
Graphics 7.61 + RWI 5.10 had the same result. Graphics firmware does not seem to work in data at all.
Stock data 7.2 + RWI 5.10 did not recognize the LiMo either but at least I know that the ROM file and programmer is working fine.

Are you sure that you've mounted correctly the limo interface?

Medium certain. The LiMo did go in series with the picture signal but on the other hand the wiring was a nightmare since you had to take out three card at omce due to interconnection cables and untangle the said cables before I could install the LiMo. I'll try 7.4 Rom before I attempt to open that rat's nest again.

No 7.4 or 7.41 ROM or ROM-file yet.
