Hello!

So, I just called URC and told them my story... I bought an MX-3000 a few years ago from Tweeter, which has subsequently gone out of business. I changed components recently and wanted to make some changes to the setup, so I called URC to try to get the software. Instead, they gave me a list of A/V shops in the area that would reprogram it for a fee. I have no interest in doing that--I'm comfortable with the software (just reprogrammed my MX850, in fact...) and would prefer not to hire someone to do something I'm perfectly capable of doing.

Has anyone run into a similar difficulty? Any chance you could point me in the right direction to find the software so that I can make just a couple changes? I spent big bucks on the remote and would love to keep using it...

Thanks!

Tom

Now I send the form found in these forum, but URC doesn't want to help me.

I'm in the same boat here. An installer sold me an MX-3000 and MSC-400 several years ago, and now that I need a component change, they no longer support the older URC models. They're happy to sell me an entirely new remote system (from another manufacturer) at a multi-K pricepoint, but wont' touch my MX-3000 with a 10' USB cable.

I called URC, and tried the form, but they refused to offer me the software. They DID tell me that my dealer could give me the software if they wanted to. But my dealer says it's against their license with URC (which URC then denied, and insisted it was the dealer's choice). So now the dealer wants something in writing from URC giving them permission to offer me the software, which URC won't provide.

This is rediculous!

I'm even exploring ways to become an "authorized URC dealer" myself - anyone know where I can find the software so I can get out of this hell?

Thanks in advance.
