I just bought a Green P19LUG43HKA, and need to know what other tubes it will Work well with.?

I can get a Blue P19LUG03BMP, and Wonder if they are ok together, light/ gamma curve.?

Anything i need to know compared to my standard P19LCP tubes.?

I have a Green PT22 tube, and the gamma curve and light output is useless on that model.

Need some help here.. PLEASE..!!

Are there different type of LUG, or is the last name like 43HKA and 03BMP just the code for the color.?

Don't have any experience of LUG's, but according to this HKA and BMP seem to have guite a difference in light output.

It could be P43 version of PT22. Then it flicker like hell with low refreshrates and need 72Hz to get good light output.

It seems that P19LUG43HKA is not so called fast phosphorus tube even name have 43 in it.

Ile: That's a great chart!
Do You have a PDF of the corresponding document? Would You be willing to share it (maybe via PM)?

To my knowledge the P19LUG43HKA has normal phosphor...

Now i been looking around, and found this..

So the BMB HKA and so on is just the color code... Makes sence with the light output, like blue dont have a straight curv, and less output.

That is why added the electrohome engineers blue gamma correction to the VIM 02p (compared to VIMs that came from the older 8000/9000 machines), and because of the low light output of the blue you have to defoucus blue, gaining light output with this. The blue BMB phosphor is already a fast phosphor.

The P19LUG43HKA is a regular slow decay green phosphor. It's the same phosphor in the LCP, LQF, and LPB. In fact, it is an identical tube in every way to the P19LQF as found in the Sony G90.

The P19LUG has the highest resolution gun and can attain the tightest beam of any of the tubes out there. The P19LUG and P19LQF also have a "scatter grid" to supposedly help reduce noise and improve edge focus. Those are the only two tubes with the scatter grid.

The P19LUG green tube is not available in a P43 phosphor at all.

Any P19LUG tubes (red, blue, green) can be matched well with any other P19LUG or P19LQF tubes of any color. The P19LPB is also a good match for the P19LUG. The P19LPB has the same phosphor and high resolution gun as the LUG, but the LPB does not have the extra scatter grid.

If you are putting the P19LUG43HKA in a Marquee, it can also be used with LCP blue and red tubes, but the P19LUG43HKA will not be as bright in a Marquee as an LCP. You can increase brightness with an LUG in a Marquee with better focus coils (frankenyokes) because you will then be able to raise the contrast higher before blooming.

The reason the LUG is not as bright as an LCP is because it does have that tighter beam therefore not exciting the surrounding phosphor as the lesser resolution tubes will. So for the extra sharpness you lose brightness.

There is a green P19LUG on its way here, so ill report back in 10-14 days when i have it,, see if it survives the trip, and how its working in the Marquee.

It comes complet in Marquee LC house and magnetics, so should not take to long to install.

It had been wet on the board, so oxidated around and under the processor chip.. I have cleaned and done everything possible, no way to save it.

Looks like someone might cleaned it, and water dripped down on the board true the ventilation holes in the top cover.

And it had been stored for 3 years with no use, with batteries in the remote.. not very pretty to open the door to the battery on the remote to.

Its a 500$ trade in unit for a new Radiance.. Wink

To my surprice it uses the same 3D comb filter chip as the Crystalio, so would love to try it.
