I see, I will try that first and if no joy then return to sender.....(:
I hope it works because my picture is just too dark for me . Background images almost dissappear and when actors wear dark clothing I cannot make out the folds of their clothes.

I guess the only way of knowing with any kind of certainty would be to ask someone local with similar units to test mine. Any volunteers want to help a poor sod out.
Toronto area is an hr from me.

Thanks guys

Good day Anthanasios

Thats very kind of you. Are you anywhere near the airport? I have a friend going to Buffalo airport and if I'm lucky I could get the unit to you.

Thanks
Mark

I just got a HDQ in my VP colection, and its working nicely with DVI in and out.

But i wanted to run 1080P 72hz RGBHV out, and i cant get a 1:1 pixel mapping, no matter what i do, and no matter what framerate i try, i have a hard time with the Timings.. adjusting 1 and it will change another. seems like the horisontal resolution is set to 1904 when RGBHV out is used at 1080P.

So i tested both DVI and RGBHV out using the same factory resolution and pass true. but no luck making a 1:1 pixel mapping with analog.

Is there a special way to change the timings when using analog out that i need to know off.. and anyone knows whats the max pixel clock this VP can handle on the RGBHV.?

this is from a member on the Lumagen forum, he made a sheet for timings but it doesn't have @72 but you can try
variations of 1080p@60

http://www.convergent-av.co.uk/forum/index.php?t=getfile&id=210&rid=0&S=ba5fb5ffa3614f07ac462fbe01b03d1d

try 2640 for VACT and then adjust front and back porches appropriately for the V some times you can also lower HACT a bit
to gain BW.

I remember doing it but not if I had 1:1

BW is not the isue, i can handle 200Mhz. ill try again, and see what happens, the timings works fine when running DVI out, but gets all waco when using RGBHV out, and messes 1:1 pixel mapping up.

I might need Jim to help with this one.

I guess no one here is using the RGBHV out, with 1:1 mapping.

It most of all looks like a software bug.

Do you have the latest firmware on it? Some times we assume the used equipment was updated by the old owner , but many who owned these had no idea back then about updates.

I have an external moome at home that I do use for my shop Marquee. I can try it but the Marquee is not optimized for 1080p but i can still get a sense of what is going on.

I do know that with the HDQ yo can not have the menu on with high frequencies, it flickers and goes wonky. you have to exit out for it to look normal.

Were you trying to view the 1:1 while any menus were up? It does make it hard when you want to test the results of a timing change because it asks you how the image looks with the count down timer to go back to last setting, but unless you hit ok and close the menu you can not tell for sure. Took me forever on some custom resolutions because of that .

Yeah i noticed the menu thing right away running 1080P out of the DVI.

The 1:1 is working fine with DVI out, its only when using the RGBHV out of the HDQ it gets funny.

HDQ con not do 1090p@72 out via DVI. Even though the menu shows @1080p@72, it really is not the resolution if I remember correctly.

When doing DVI out look at the * menu on the Marquee to make sure the PJ sees 72 hz.

You need to forget about the DVI.. im talking about the RGBHV Wink

First i need to get the 1080P 60hz RGBHV out pixel perfect, then i need to make a 1080P 72hz RGBHV pixel perfect.

Thats the problem..

I know there are two timings for 1080p@60 "A" and "B" but not sure where it is in the menu.

Not seen that one anywhere.. I have emailed Jim.. so im sure ill get something back soon.

One isue is the 1:1 mapping, but adjusting the timing when using Analog out is a bit like trying to change the framerate on a radiance and not knowing that its the pixel clock you have to change..

I cant make a 1080x1920 72hz timing.. I need to know why it works different when its analog output, and how i can enter my timing nr, so they stay put.
