Confused about hooking up a HDMI card. I'm a knob at this stuff.

Sony 1272, I use the Sony Switcher for all my add ons. then All RGBVH to the projector.

Right now my Blue Ray DVD is hooked up using a converter, the running the rgb break out cables to a rgbvh card in the switcher.

When I get my HDMI card, Will I just hook up that card to the dvd player and not use the rgbvh card?

I've never used HDMI befor. How would 2 cards work with one dvd source?

Also my HD Direct tv box has a hdmi plug. Any benefit plugging into that?

Thank You Very Much

Use an HDMI cable to go directly into the HDMI card you've installed in the projector. The RGB card in the projector is no longer used for that HDMI source.

So like this:

Source with HDMI output -> HDMI cable -> HDMI card in projector

If you have an HDMI switching receiver or similar, you can use that like this:

Multiple sources with HDMI outputs -> Multiple HDMI cables -> HDMI switcher -> HDMI cable -> HDMI card in projector

If you still have non-HDMI (analog) sources you can use both the HDMI and analog RGB cards in the projector and in the projector and/or the RGB switcher that you have now.

It really depends on what sources you want to use, what you want to add, and so forth.

Normally you want to use HDMI as much as possible for everything since there's zero signal degradation possible with digital. As well, the Moome HDMI card has gamma boost which you really need/want with any CRT based display (unless you're providing gamma boost elsewhere today with your analog setup?).

What's your setup? What are the sources?

I would connect everything HDMI to the HDMI card. You can keep using the RGB switch box if you need to use the VCR, or connect the VCR directly to the projector.

Sure - no need for both.
