I tried to reset but I end up again with a picture out of sync so I didn't save it.
I don't know what is wrong.
I sent you the config. file with 1080i@72

All right, I have your config and was just playing with it. Something is very strange...

As you have reported, I can't get 1080i 72Hz to work correctly now with my processor even after I reset your config and started from scratch...

I'll talk to Pat...

I tried your config file and something is also very strange. The Barco displays something like 17KHz with 198Hz !!
But when I force the display to 1080i@60, I can see all your custom modes to 1080i@72 in the menu.

I also tried to use my output 2 on the XD and I don't have this sync problem anymore after a factory reset.

All right guys, I have documented numerous issues and have reported them all to Pat. My guess is that he will try and look at this on Monday or soon after. Don't bother to try and keep playing with this as it is very broken. Wait for news before going forward because I don't think you will get anywhere.

I was right:

There will still be a mystery to me that the HDQ can give me 1080i@96 when my XD Radiance cannot.
Tomorrow I will do a last test with my Pionner TV instead of the BG808.

It doesn't work with the Radiance Mini either. I suspect it works for craigr because he has an XE+

I believe there is a software limit preventing 72Hz with 1920x1080 resolution in the non + models. It should only restrict 1080p72 but I am guessing Patrick forgot to lift the restriction for interlaced formats.

Patrick just replied and said the same thing! He tested on a + model.

Should be fixed early next week Thumbs Up

Yeah, I actually downgraded my XE+ here before I talked to Pat. Once I downgraded the XE+ to XE I couldn't get Corleone88's config to run 1080i 72Hz anymore. So the first thing I put in my email to Pat was regarding that... so you were right Smile

Pat told me he thinks he will have it fixed Monday, but other things may take priority so we'll see. Pat said he would give 1080i 96Hz a shake too.

Not so great news now. They are unable to fix this in software due to the Radiance architecture which runs each field of interlaced signals at full clock rate, therefore clock rate is doubled internally and exceeds the capability of non+ models. We are asked to upgrade to a + model Sad

Yeah, I just talked to Pat about this. He said Lumagen is offering you the PLUS option for half price.

A long while back Pat had rewritten the software to make interlaced look better. This was accomplished by deinterlacing the interlaced signals and processing them while progressive. So the 1080i signal must be processed at 72Hz while it is 1080p (I think I have that correct).

I wonder if 1080i 72Hz would work on one of the really old firmwares without the PLUS option.

Well some times you have to offer some to get some.. It look like this is a good example.

Sometimes i get annoyed when the Radiance dont deliver what i want, or expect, but i think its a result of all the options, and more wants more. Wink

Well I am bit disappointed of course. But if I can output 720p120, I am surprised that 1080i@96 take more bandwidth.
The + for half price would be a good deal, if I end up having 1080i@96 which is not the case according to Patrick.
At 72Hz the picture is nice but at 96Hz the picture is great !
So I would probably keep my HDQ.

So It is probably better in my case to enter 1080p24 into the XD which ouputs 1080i@48-> HDQ which will ouput 1080i@96.
Before it was 1080p24->XD->1080p@24->HDQ->1080i@96

You could try a very early firmware and it it works move forward. You would lose a lot of features, but you could make the call. I am not sure that it will work, but it might be worth a shot.

If I had to guess when Pat made the change, it would have been when he added "reinterlacing" to the software. I could easily be wrong.
