Hi All,

I'm trying to move beyond 1600x1200 to 720 p or even 1080 (p or i) and 3d and running into some issues.
I'm using the bnc connectors through a svga to bnc cable adapter.

Any linux people who know what the xorg.conf setting should be?

I've managed to get a viewable image @ 1980x1200 but image is quite dark and the colors are somewhat muted.

Not sure if this helps but here is the source info data from the projector,

fh = 111.06 khz
fv = 59.95 hz
hd +, vd -

I'd also like to get a higher refresh frequency than 60hz

from xorg.conf, I'm using the following

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor1"
VendorName "NEC"
ModelName "CRT-1"
HorizSync 15.0 - 110.0
VertRefresh 60.0 - 160.0
ModeLine "1920x1080_120.00" 369.50 1920 2080 2288 2656 1080 1083 1088 1160 -hsync +vsync
ModeLine "1920x1080_110.00" 334.75 1920 2072 2280 2640 1080 1083 1088 1153 -hsync +vsync
ModeLine "1920x1080_100.00" 302.50 1920 2072 2280 2640 1080 1083 1088 1147 -hsync +vsync

Option "DPMS"
# nec projector

That numbers assuming crazy high porches if you really run the pj at 1920x1200, at 60Hz refresh the horizontal frequency suggests about 1850 lines in total.
Also your calculation for the 720p signal is wrong at the bottom. For simple calculation you should start with this:
http://www.arachnoid.com/modelines/
But there is a possibility that your XG won't like those standard timings. However I am pretty sure you'll find plenty powerstrip timings (1080i/p, 720p..) for your XG, so you can calculate the correct modeline parameters from that too.

For 3D I wouldn't dreaming about 1080p@100Hz or something like that, as none of CRT projector's have the bandwidth to handle that right, 720p@120Hz would be more suitable for example.

Here are my favorite settings, no 3D, and I have a NEC PG xtra, not an XG:
720p @72Hz:
"1280x720" 85.500 1280 1328 1464 1592 720 721 723 746 -hsync -vsync

1080i @96Hz (essentialy the same that was suggested by 'kschmit2'):
"1920x1080" 130.433 1920 1980 2172 2416 1080 1102 1105 1127 interlace +hsync +vsync
