With a luminosity = 35 and a contrast = 70, I have a luminance around 6.8ftl with a window pattern 100IRE.
II have no idea what should be a correct luminance value for a BG 808. I read in "Greyscale for Dummies", that for a CRT, the luminance should be between 8 and 12ftL. I am not sure that mine is capable of going that high.

Hi,
I manage to get a nice picture with lum around 50. In fact, the HDMI input card works well on Yc422 but strangely not as well on RGB (brightness is higher).
Now after following the first Craig's advices to calibrate on CRT, the main difficulty for me is to adjust the gamma manually. And I was wondering what picture or movie I can use to adjust it properly. The black bars flashing are ok to set the overall brightness but it is not enough for the level of luminance between 1 and 5 IRE. And I was thinking about a form to see in the darkest area of a picture or movie, but I don't know which one.
