I see there exist a sticky thread for lenses, though I wonder if someone would be kind enough to explain the key differences between the Delta HD-145 and Delta HD 6C ML. (Both are clear and have silver labels)

I'm fixing up my Barco 500 Data and of the two which I'd be better using. The colour filters are on each of the CRTs tube face assembly.

Just out of interest would anybody have a guide or tips on how to calibrate my Barco's colour temperature (white point) - normally I'd use my Minolta CRT colour analyser. Perhaps I could measure each (CRT tube) element's xyY colour space respectively to a CIE standard. What illuminant D standard is best suited. I believe my projector is about 600 lumens.

The HD 145s will have better corner focus if you use a large area of the tube face. They and the HD-144s are probably the best youll get.

Case is right, but I think your tubes isn't sharp enough to take advantage of the better lens.

I set myself an allocated projector budget for the objective of repairing my 500 data which I've achieved, besides I'm happy enough with it - works well within its capacity.

Not too many of us 7"ES users are tinkering with this stuff, so glad to see your post! I posted to this old thread on this very issue just days ago. Today or tomorrow I expect to be getting an HD145 set in the mail to compare to both HD-6CML and the HD-6D lenses. Note that in addition to the potentially better corner focus, kschmit2 reported (above link) that less haloing results as well. As I don't know what haloing looks like, I'm hoping the better lenses will teach me with obvious improvement. I thought haloing was mostly a AC vs LC thing, but interesting to read otherwise.

A while ago I asked related questions which may be of interest. And somehow I'd missed this thread where where kschmit2 indicated we don't need to worry about different throw lengths between the 6C and 145 lenses.

So...looks like we get to do some parallel experimentation in the coming days; I will be anxious to see what we find. Exploring, learning, and having fun! Thumbs Up

Just got home. Man alive, Craig -- talk about a fantastic job packaging! All 6 exposed lens surfaces arrived unscathed. Most amazingly, UPS didn't even bother to drop-kick the box a few times...go figure. Thanks again! As the wife and kids will be gone all weekend, I can finally polish the scheimpflug and the lenses can come out to play. I'll try to teach myself to explicitly notice the haloing, too.
