Ile, Seems that you should drop green drive a bit lower so that neckboards runs same temperature (second picture) Mr. Green

Car, lucky guess: Ford Cortina?

Car went wrong, but is that another mystery item: Tivoli Audio radio?

A tube radio?
<edit> I should read the whole thread before quoting..Very Happy

Now you guys can see why I frown on most fan mods. I consider the Barco projectors to run cool overall compared to say NECs. Look at the temperature chart of the hotspots of the Barco. Ouch!

it all depends on how you look at it. For instance, Fan mod's = more repair work for Curt Wink

True, but usually more of a 'throw it out, it's toasted' type of parts sale. I'll take it, but I'd rather do an actual repair. Board swapping isn't a challenge.

Boy, I dunno, fan mods seem all the more needed to me IF temp is detrimental to a given part. That is, I know electrolytic caps do have longer lifetimes with cooler temps...but I'm not sure on the super-hot MOSFETs. 80decC components could use some mini, additional direct cooling - some of those tiny 3cm-ish fans located near components couldn't hurt and are nearly silent and easy to mount with sheet metal.

Camera have automatic scaling, so scale vary from picture to picture. Celcius scale is printed at every picture, so for example Hsift board picture have around 125 Celcius degree (dark red) at hottest area.
