In the ~$2K range who should I be looking at for a video processor?

Lumagen gets a lot of reviews and seems well regarded.

Are there any other contenders?

Nothing else can do what a Lumagen can especially for CRT (though they are also excellent on digitals).

Agree with everything everyone here has said. I think the only area that one could really ding the Radiance is the user interface - it's not quite as intuitive as that on DVDO's processors, but it's certainly not hard to find your way around the Radiance. In every other area - customer service, feature set, quality of algorithms, upgradability, frequency of bug fixes and feature updates/upgrade - the Radiance line is unparalleled. Well, unless you're looking to invest $50K+ in industrial gear Mr. Green

Yeah, there is a learning curve with the interface. However, it is very well thought out and easy to use considering the immense number of features the Radiance line has. I mean, being able to adjust so many parameters requires an extensive interface that can be challenging at first. But once you start to use the processor it gets easier and easier.

I dont have any experience with any vp other than my radiance. I have to say it is amazing the amount of tweakability i have with the video coming out of my ps3.
