Amazingnessosity!!! January 30, 2011
By This Guy 2100
(To kick things off - Hi Reddit! I'm nobody2000)
First off, I bought one of these for my $200 19" Visio. It displays 720P, but NOT ANY MORE!!!
When I got this cable, it came wrapped in bacon, which I thought was pretty weird, but shrugged it off, slid off my recliner into my Rascal, scooted from the living room to the kitchenette, and started cooking my bacon-wrapping.
As the smell of delicious pork back filled my double-wide, I turned around to look again at the box the cable came in.
Could this be? Yes! It was a "3 wolves barking at the moon shirt" and even better, it fit me perfectly (I wear an XXXXL).
So I yumplugged (get it, yum because of the bacon?) the crappy coax and component cables from my TV, and slapped in the HDMI golden cable between the visio and the blu-ray.
I was completely unprepared for what would turn out to be the best day ever.
I dusted off my....oh who am I kidding...I was already watching my "Mama's Family: season 1" Blu Ray (disc one). The magic began...
Once Vicki Lawrence appeared on screen, she broke character AND the fourth wall. She, and the rest of the cast jumped OUT of my TV, and performed the episode on my living room floor!!!!
Screw 1080P! This is way better. I thought to myself that having a 12" real-life "mama's family" cast was awesome. I wondered what would happen if I had a bigger TV...
Or better yet, used this cable to plug it into that giant TV screen they have at Cowboys Stadium!
Anyway, I was in for a further treat when I was watching a Betty White episode. Oh MAN!!! Could life get better?
I spoke too soon...
After enjoying some drinks with the mini-cast of "Mama's family" (my own mama left me all her Hooch in the will), we threw on the TV. I turned it on to family guy, and the same thing happened.
I was able to punch that Jesus-hating Peter Griffin and that smart-assed dog in their sacrilegious faces. Mini-Betty White even did a pile driver to Stewie.
MacGyver came on, and we all were in 7th heaven (and when 7th Heaven came on, it was EVEN Better).
I could go on and on about my day, but i'm gonna stop here. BUY THIS CABLE.
It could easily be the best $2594.75 you ever spend...
(also, you can buy a $4 HDMI cable and get good results. unlike analog cables, digital cables either work or they don't. You can't PAY for it to work better!)

Generates its own electricity! March 10, 2012
By D....
When I first saw this product, I was skeptical. Can a power cable be worth this much money? But since I'm a risk-taker by nature, I decided to take the plunge. The day it arrived, a huge storm knocked out the electricity to our house and I realized that I'd have to wait to try it out. Disappointed, I decided to plug it in anyway so that I'd be ready to listen to the amazing sound coming out of my trusty Coby boombox (still going strong, although I had to scrape away some of the duct tape to fit the plug adapter. The AudioQuest still didn't quite fit, so I added a few links of some old lamp cord I found in the basement, but I figured that the exceptional quality of the new cable would compensate for any possible problems caused by my hand-wired temporary connections).
After I'd connected it to the Coby, I plugged the other end of the cable into the wall and stood up to walk away. But before I'd taken my first step, I realized that my faithful Coby had started to play my favorite Mozart string quintet -- and I had lost that cassette more than a year earlier! The sound was . . . . unbelievable. When I closed my eyes, it seemed that I was actually sitting between the cellist and the violinist. I was almost glad that it wash't a full symphony, let alone a Pink Floyd album. I'd want to be better prepared.
That's when I noticed something else: the lights were starting to go on throughout the house. "The electricity's back on," I thought to myself, but looked out the window and saw that all the other houses were still dark. I looked more closely at the AudioQuest and noticed that it was vibrating slightly and felt warm to the touch. I decided to unplug both ends, and immediately the music stopped and the lights faded. I made the connections again and both Mozart and the lights came back.
I'm not an electrical engineer, so I don't know exactly how AudioQuest has pulled this off. My guess is that it's a combination of the Multiple-Position Noise-Dissipation System and the Counter-Spiral Geometry, but I can't be sure. But I did do some quick calculations and realized that within 12 months, this cable would pay for itself. Since then, I've cut my electric bills to nearly zero (still need a slight boost from the grid on really hot days) and I've cut the municipal electricity entirely from my two rental properties. The AudioQuest handles the load nicely there, since there's no air conditioning. All in all, I'm satisfied with the purchase. Sure, the audio quality improved quite a bit, but the bigger factor for me was the savings on electricity. And since our city has switched its metering system, we can actually sell excess electrical power back to the local utility company. Now I'm seeing a steady income flow in spring and fall, and even during periods of moderate weather in summer and winter. I'm actually thinking of investing in a few more to generate bigger returns. Thanks, AudioQuest!

"Originally I was going to use the money to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend, but I came upon this cable and decided this could keep me warm at night all by itself."
Man, the reviews are too funny. Shouldn't have bought that ring I guess... she could just carry this cable around on her hand. Stuff like this is the High-End audio/Home Theater equivalent of the automotive enthusiasts fart-can aftermarket exhaust and racing stickers.... to some it looks and sounds cool but a profound waste of money. _________________ JVC RS40U Screening Room
