Can't believe the number of machines posted lately with "Free pick-up or it's going to the dump". So far there's been a NEC 6PGX in Toronto, Sony G70 in CA, Now a D50 in Virginia and another NEC 6PG+ in San Fran.
After seeing what a used 6PGX can do at my friends house it's amazing so few people want these machines.

Strange indeed, and I've got a massive surge in 9" sales right now. It feels like 2005 all over again.. at greatly reduced prices. Smile

Anyone need any of the parts for the D50? I might be able to pick-up the unit and related parts.

Yeah, I watched an NEC XG75 go from $250 to 0 on CraigsList over a few months...the moment he said he was giving it to a good home, I drove out to Ypsilanti and met him and his wife...great people, he thought he roached it a year ago. It gathered dust in their room until the wife gave him a deadline mandate to make it become space.

It came with a seriously damaged blue tube which he claimed to have bought off eBay...but he got burned by a scammer, the tube is scorched trash...and I suspect he lost his enthusiasm.

So, now I've an 85 and 75...an old Runco 900 which used to be in a short-throw rear-projector rig...a Sony 1251Q...Dwin HD-700 in need of some lovin'...and even an ancient NTSC Vidikron (with HD-145s, I think, among other really valuable parts). If I add an Electrohome and a Seleco...I can start a University o' Tweaking Cathode Ray Tubes! Oh yeah, Ampro, too.

I do still have all my Extron RGB distribution and switching stuff...so I can run them off a variety of processors and signal generators...might have to put this stuff to WORK!

Who wants to learn how to really tweak a CRT?! What would it be worth to ya, for perhaps a weekend o' fun in Detroit City?

Cheers!
John

You have very old pieces of technology that in most area's of the country service doesn't exist.

hello

If someone want to put a G70 that has the trash, I'm interested in the green tube, if it is not too damaged, the only problem is that I live in France. But there is never a problem without solution Mr. Green

ok, unfortunately I can not take you around the projector, as too expensive for my budjet: the machine, plus postage, for I live in France. but if you decide to sell your spare parts and to G70 that your tubes are not too many hours and there are not too pronounced. I'm 200% customer for a reasonable price, since I started and my budget is limited. Anyway thank you very much for responding. I cross my fingers: mrgreen:

I'd love any extra D50 parts. And I'm not entirely sure what I need (I certainly haven't gotten into the circuit board of my machine as I've only had it couple years now and am not one to fiddle with something that works), but my blue refuses to completely focus. The green and red do quite well with the manual adjustments (though I'm sure it could be better, I wouldn't know), but the photo is as good as the blue gets. ideas?

Sounds awesome! But there's no way I'd be able to get to Detroit anytime this year. If you ever hold one, I'd be interested in paying for registration and possibly joining via skype or other video conferencing session if you'd be willing?
