Yeah, I saw one on DC3 service out of Los Angeles recently!

I assume you meant DC-9 service, Tim... Because, if you were on a DC-3, then I don't want to know what you're doing with your time when you're not doing A/V and projector work. Wink

Friends and people at work often ask me for advice in deciding on sound equipment and I always tell them to take the better more expensive of the equipment they are trying to decide between. " a month from now you will have gotten over the price shock and 5, 10, maybe even 20 years from now you will still have the equipment if you buy good equipment"
The notion of buying something like this that you know you won't have for long seems backward. If you thinking about digital equipment think the same way as buying a computer: buy the cheapest POS that you can live with.
OTOH if you have a shot at a projector that's probably going to be around for a while at a decent price go for it.

It is the one for free which cmjohnson offers, he would also give a whole set ampro 4600 boards for free, which are about the same as the 3600. I think with two sets of boards it could be made going if it is bad. The shipping would be around 400$ which is a right price here for a 8" EM machine.

A couple of pics of Ampro projectors onboard ship. They are known as Large Screen Display or LSDs.

After duty they squeeze the raster, and they are ready for a fine curved screen blend Very Happy
