Ah. I thought you meant the recyclers in the sense that I have to contend with where I live, which is where the county provides trash and recycling bins that
are picked up by the trash hauling company on separate days. Any money they make off of recycling goes in a split between the contracted trash company and the county.

To actually give it to some people who use it to support themselves and their families, that's MUCH better and I approve!

There have been times when I have done recycling to supplement my income. The less I was making at a job, the more I recycled to offset the
difference, and it worked out pretty well.

Well, if you think about it, my whole CRT business really is recycling.

Strange how recycling varies from state to state. BC was a latecomer to the electronics stuff. I still believe that recycling uses more energy than it conserves, ever watch Penn and Teller's bull**** episode on recycling? It's certainly eye opening...

Tell me why I kept about 100 HD8 lenses in stock?????

Just say no! Mr. Green

Tossing about 150 lenses total. Anything older than HD 145s. Scratched 145s. HD8s HD9 TAC lenses, etc.

Who wants to assist lugging them up to the dumpster???

Sell them on ebay for 5 bucks each (plus shipping) to the amateur telescope and optical experimenter's crowd.

And if you have any Minolta DLP lenses, PLEASE don't toss them. I WILL buy them all "if the price is right".

Additionally, I'll also take lenses for Panasonic 1-chip DLP units. Not that I expect you to have any.

So really, what's the deal? As completely predicted, not a week after I throw out ALL of my Zenith PRO 851 parts, I get an inquiry for parts for one. Luckily I did save a few boards, and get my $100 out of them. Smile

curt, i thought you had an idea about recycling old electronics, do you still hang on to that idea?
whatever the outcome, you`ll probably be a "roepende in de woestijn" (dutch proverb meaning "someone calling in the desert"... if that makes sense).

Actually it refers to a prophet, not being heard. Guess an appropriate likening in the days leading up to Easter.

I'm still doing the recycling thing, but part time at night. The demand for used computer monitors has died right off, go figure.

I'm making a killing on as is laptops on eBay though. THought I could get into rebuilding them, and did sell some, but when I can make $50-100 as is for one with no hard drive and possible problems, vs $150 for the same one that I need to buy an HD and adapter for, and load in Windows and spent 90 minutes on it, why bother spending time on them? I collected about 150 laptops over the last 18 months, and am selling them now, 4-5 a week at least for $25-150 depending on the age.

I did also score two late model units with Win 7 on them, they only needed screens.

Sound installs are picking up, and since Feb projector sales are through the roof...
