Could someone describe to me how to post a pic?
Or point me to some instructions?

Are you uploading your pics to an image hosting site?

I tried posting on "image shack" but it didn't work.
I accept that I'm missing something obvious , it just isn't obvious to me.

Do you mean you uploaded them to image shack and then tried to post them here?

Yes
BTW thanks for posting my screwed up red tube for me. I do appreciate it and I hate to impose so I'm trying to figure out how to post a picture of my left over wire myself.

Go to your Image shack pictures. Put your pointer over the picture you want to post and right click on it. A box will open. Select "Share it".
Another box will open. Go down to the line that says "Direct". Put your pointer in that gray box and left click. The whole line should turn blue. Then right click and select copy.
Then come here to the forum and open your box to post in. From the tabs on top select "Img".
This should appear in the posting area.
Now put your pointer just after the [img] and right click. A box should open with the word Paste highlighted. Select "paste".
You should now have something like this.
[/img]http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/6706/print2io.jpg
Now go back up the the tabs at the top and select "Img again.
Another [img] should appear right after your pasted item.
That should be it. Select the preview button to see if your picture is there.

I think I know where I'm going wrong: right click and left click don't mean much in Mac
Back to head scratching I guess

Ok, then what ever you need to do to open the boxes, and highlight something, and then select it, LOL.

I think it's the image size. Compressed it and it will post and give the option to download the pic
Have a look please .

Uploading images burns disk space and bandwidth on Kal's server. If at all possible, use an image hosting service and link - that's what they're for.

You posted a zip file, which means people have to download the zip file to their computer, open the zip file, and finally view the image.
With an image hosting service, and with the directions Mac or I posted, forum viewers would be able to view the image "inline", meaning right in the thread... Like this...

It just offers the option of a zip file.
Sorry
Do I need a different computer?
