jeremy, this is whaT i already use for my blend but the non HDMI audio version.

here moome added HDMI audio and a neat pass through function for each Color space type as well as the
ability to convert color space from one to another( great feature for some).

I just got an e-mail from moome saying he has some of the older HDMI Mux-HD with out the HDMI audio.

he will let me know what price he plans to let these go to clear his inventory. Even if you plan to get the newest
MUX-FHD it wouldnt be a bad idea to have an older version of it. I have found my self wiching I had my oler model to trouble shoot HDCP issues in other places and having to rip out the only MUX i have is a pain. And if the price is heavily discounted why not?

He said the new ones will be 299 with a possible first run discount. But that can change as always.

Funny I'm going to use your old one tomorrow with a VP50 to my RPTV to see if I can crop 4:3 out of a 16:9 picture from the bluray player. I want to watch Fantasia full screen damit! Laughing

The one feature I would like to see for the people that don't have gamma in their scalers is the low end gamma bump like the analog products have. That would make for a very cool MUX

Moome, when you check the old stock w/o audio let me know how much for one. I am taking the HDMI audio off at the Sony IFB-FULLHD V2 anyways.

The old MUX-HD are 240 and he said he has maybe 4-6 left.

the new model might be ready in Feb. if you know moome it might be longer, but it is worth the extra wait.
he likes to test and re test to make sure everything works as it should.

Yeah there are times the old MUX-HD would come in real handy.

I've been trying to get my hands on one with little luck. I stumbled on a solution of sorts, tho. This little inexpensive device from Monoprice is advertised to take a DVI video in and Toslink audio in, and combine them into a single HDMI out. Well, it also does a bit more than that.

Lets just say, it too is a handy device to have around while troubleshooting HDCP issues, and leave it at that. Wink

Ahh, very cool. I'm glad a new MUX was released, looks like its received some nice enhancements. Last time I checked in here no one seemed to know if there was even going to be another MUX.

So at this point, is there any advantage at all that the old MUX-HD has over the new MUX-FHD?

If you need HDMI audio instead of running the Optical from the mUX then you'll want the VF01.

If you don't need HDMI audio and don't need the specific forcing of color space in or outs then the old MUX will be fine.

I'm getting the new one because I'd like to have an extra one around to hunt down HDCP issues with out taking the one I have in my system out.

A question regarding the outputs:

Is it possible to use 2 different input channels, or does it only output 2 color types of 1 input?

I just received the new MUX-FHD Video Formatter VF01 from Moome yesterday. It allows HD1080i to be recorded from a DirecTivo DVR into the HDMI input of a Hauppauge Colossus at 20 mbps and on to my hard drive with excellent video quality. The audio records in excellent quality in either 2 ch PCM or Dolby 5.1 Surround (whichever output you select from the DVR). I have had no color issues or A-V sync issues with this set up.

It also is a nice way to transfer standard definition DVD content from a 480p DVD player onto my hard drive using the HDMI output on the DVD player. Very Happy Very Happy

It will output what ever Colorspace you want for that specific input. Set it to what you want and it remembers it , but, i think the memory is volatile . So if its powered off you have to re set that color space. I always leave mine on.
