|
|
Hi,
project will start soon.
Still waiting for the TV One Units.
What do you think is the best resolution for each projector to realize the blend?
thanks

I am sending 1080p@24 from BD>moome MUX HD( I use this as my HDMI Splitter) > 2 Radiance XS's>1080p@24>2 TV-Ones @ 1056x800p@96hz> Moome VIM HD.
To save money at first you can use the RGBHV's outputs on the Tv-Ones .
I highly recommend the Moome Mux-HD as your splitter. it will avoid all HDCP issues and from testing to one PJ with a blu ray player directly to the PJ and adding the Mux in the chain I measured no ill affect to the multi burst pattern via a scope.

Sorry to be so late in posting - I've been busy helping my daughter move.
I strongly agree with Nash on using the Moome Mux as a splitter right after your source to deal with HDCP. I use one after my VP50Pro which is used only for input switching and overall AR control.
Also, while my original intent was to use the analog outputs from the TVOne's, it also had HDCP issues even when the original source was analog!!! The solution was to use another pair of Moome's as D/A converters from the DVI output from the TVOne's. While it seems like a real pita, it is the only problem I've had. Really love the power and flexibility of creating output resolutions from the TVOne's.
Just like Nash, I use 1920X800 @ 24 from my VP50, but I have found I like 1064X1200 @ 72 with my pair of XGLC's a little better than 800. 1200 is an easy loss free scale from 800. If I had a pair of 9" Marquee's like you have, I would certainly try 1600 as Nash suggests!

You might want to PM Craig about blending and what to do.

I still wish lumagen would build a blend unit. They have the know how with Color science and processing. If they can do
125 point calibration Cube then they can easily program a seamless Blend zone with full calibration in that zone separate from
the rest of the image. They could use the current Lumagen Radiance and create a separate firmware for it. no 3D crap and a few less other features would free up the processing power and memory needs that Blending might involve. I think there is a big commercial Market for them that they can tap. Partner with Calman or Chromapure for the final calibration touches in the blend zone and It could be done. Even digital Projectors are blended now for large Venues and Concert's etc.
But I think Jim is tired of me buggin him about it.
Eltopo there are the units sold over at Spectracal that do edge blending and warping. but they are a bit more.
They might be better. No one has tried them that I know of.

have you bought you TV-ones? i have a pair of analog units NIB that i was going to use in a 8" blend that became a single 9" for noise reasons (sitting under a pair of XG's would be tantamount to sitting under a jet engine.)

Do you think 1056x1600@60/72 should be better on a 9 incher because otherwise with 1056x800@60/72 scanlines are visible?

I have visible scan lines with 800 lines, but not at my seating distance. I would go with the 1200, as it is a very easy upgrade from the original 800 and it is well within your projectors capability. BTW, are you using a 2.4 AR screen?

Yes i'm using a 2.40 screen.
Are you using the TV ONE's with DVI or RGB out ?

I am using the DVI output which then feeds a pair of Moome Mux's. I would rather have used the analog outputs, but there is an HDCP hiccup that occurs with the pair of VideoEq's that I use. Just like Nash, I use an additional Mux right off my DVDO VP50Pro as a splitter and HDCP stripper. The output bandwidth and driving capability of the TVOne's analog outputs is top notch.
BTW, if at all possible at this stage, I highly recommend you switch the positions of the red and blue tubes on one of your projectors. This way you will have perfect symmetry for the blend zone. Perhaps you can just swap them and remember red is blue, etc. during setup. One of the many Marquee guru's here can advise you the best way as I don't know how it handles blue defocusing. Maybe all the cables going to the tubes are long enough to switch also.

Blend setup will not be with the Marquees in the end.
Blend setup will be done with 2 x BR909-ers

Id go with 1056x1200 as Bob mentioned. I tried that on my 9500 Marquee and it looked good when I had it in the Theater.
From 1.2x screen distance I can not see scan lines with my 8500's but running at 72 hz helps hide them. you could go up to 96 hz
with the 800p. What happens is the MTF reduces and the solid definition of the individual lines reduces therefore leaving a smooth
film like image which I prefer , I never understood why you want to see scan lines. Push the PJ to a limit where the scan lines start to
blend together with out hurting sharpness from your viewing distance. finding that compromise is the best solution.

Thanks.
If you run a Barco Reality 909 with 1080i for example the image is simply unwatchable.
