|
|
Looking at getting a bluray burner to back up my PVR/HTPC. I'll mainly be doing strait data disks. However I wouldn't mind trying to make a proper bluray to play in a stand alone player.
Should I go buy Nero 11 Platinum and call it a day or is there other software I should look at?

Try Multiavchd http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/ to create the proper format then Image Burn to copy/burn to the BD disk.
I am currently using Cyberlink Powerdirector 10 to create my BDs and found it on ebay for less than $60.

AnyDVD HD doesn't burn disks. It just makes the system run smoothly
Bought a few things. I'll update later. For now ( Voice of The Count from Sesame Street ) ONE! ONE Bluray coaster ah, ah, ahhhh.

I'm still lost on why you are not backing up via hard drive considering the cost/GB, and access time.

Because of the flood in Taiwan that made all the hard drive prices go up by $100 bucks here. Plus Hard drives fail, and, so far, optical media has been very reliable for me. I have back ups dating back to 1999 that are still good. The hard drives, not so much.

Nash, you miss understand me. I don't want to copy bluray, they are all ready on disks'!
I want to take an MPEG2 .TS file recorded over the air ATSC in 1080i or 720p (<---yuck) and make a bluray from it.
I want to make my own bluray box set of CHUCK and a couple of other shows.

Thanks, I'll have a look.
The drive came with software but I bought Nero Platinum 11 too but due to Christmas and a new scaler I haven't had time to try it.
I did get an OK burn data disk wise with the LG software so at least that works.

Ha, funny I back burnered ( no pun intended ) this and got busy with other things. In the mean time I cleaned up and uhh hummm miss placed my 500GB HDD with the last season of Chuck on it
Time to clean up again. OR.... go buy the Chuck box set. That's the surest way to find the one I misplaced.
