I guess it is to be expected..., but does anyone else notice it as obvious?
Bought a movie one night that had the free movie coupon from VUDU.. PS3 had the app for VUDU...downloaded it...we decided to watch "The Expendables"....big movie...had guests over...so, it was kinda a "show off" night. The whole movie I felt like it wasn't turned up????...I looked back at the rack to turn it up, but I was already WAY over reference. I've noticed this a couple times while streaming, always when guests are here. I guess I just need to stick to Blu Ray when showing off???

Yep, no doubt about it, for us "A/Vphiles" the convenience of streaming video comes at a price and if one has a quality system, compared to Blu-Ray, streaming is always going to be disappointing, it is a convenience, nothing more.
Until the SPs eventually provide enough bandwidth to allow downloadable consistent top-quality video, adding channels and collecting revenue for those additional channels, will always take priority.

Make sure the VUDU app doesn't have a volume control, and if it does set it to maximum AFTER you turn down your AVR. This had to be done for the iPad.

For what it's worth, I don't think we'll ever see service providers streaming video that doesn't have extra compression (as compared to Blu-ray). When bandwidth is increased, they will simply look to add more channels or 'value add' content of some sort since most people don't care. Most people would rather have more channels/features than less better quality channels.
