I use white melamine covered 12 mm particle board from local hardware store, it's that same stuff used for cheap furnitures. Very Happy Gain is about 1.3 and it's neutral white so it doesn't chance color temp.

There is mild hotspot and color sift (you can see RGB tube reflections) with full white picture, but it's same for all 1.3 gain screens I have tested. (Draper M1300 and Stewart StudioTek 130)

I guess surface can be finished to full matte (1.0 gain) if uniformity bothers you, but then you lose little brightness.

I think it's pretty close what WilsonArt is.

Really you get a hot spot with StudioTek 130? I don't see one on mine.

It's not that distracting with 1.1-1.3 gain, but it's there. You have to look harder with full white picture. Very Happy

I too see it on StudioTek 130, never with actual video material but with a full white screen or nearly so from my HTPC I see it clearly if I am looking for it.

I'll have to try a full white screen again. I'll look for it, maybe that little Sony D-50 just can't do it Very Happy
