So, I haven't cracked the case yet, but I was wondering if any of the Barco experts could diagnose an increasing HV snapping...
What's the most likely culprit of the HV components ?
It doesn't affect the picture, yet, just snaps and continues on...
but its getting worse, fairly quickly...the last few snaps rattled the picture for the first time...I've got *some* spares but I don't want to get this without having to swap in blindly...sooo....what is the MOST likely component to fail slowly like this producing increasing HV snaps ???
My first guess is the splitter, really just because its easiest to change...not based on any knowledge....

Usually the splitter, but at this point you can also suspect the HV leads going to the tubes...

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm assuming the HV splitter is the same between the 701s and the 808s, since they LOOK exactly the same...
Try cleaning the HV leads first though, right ??(It never works, but takes the least effort...).

i have that same problem now, my guess is that this happens after the silicone has been on the hv boot over a longer period of time.
i first thought it was the splitter, but i changed out the splitter twice with the same hv snapping remaining.
so far no damage has been done but i think i`d better get myself 3 new hv leads,
or, take the hv leads out, clean, remove as much of the old silicone as possible and apply new and let it cure for a few days.

Update if anyone cares. I got around to swapping the splitter from my 701s that's been sitting in the garage, into my 808s(with MEC tubes) and it fixed the problem.
The 808s had died completely, finally, and I swapped in the G90 on the ceiling, but I'm happy to have the issue definitively diagnosed and fixed.
