Does anybody know how to feed a VGA signal into this monitor? The Barco CPM 2070 runs both 15 and 31KHz signals but it doesn't have a VGA connector.

However it has an older 9 Pin Tally connector so I tried to feed VGA through a 15 pin to 9 pin adapter in:

That didn't work, it seems the monitor is getting something but doesn't know what to do with the signal. The screen is only jumping between inputs.

Then I found this Barco Port 3 pinout, it shows how to connect a VGA signal to a Barco 9 pin connector which is found on old Barco tube projectors:

http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco_Port3_Input.shtm

I tried this solution too but again no luck.

The monitor also has BNC connectors on the back and maybe it's possible to feed VGA in it using a VGA to BNC cable.
But which one should I use? I thought of the following options:

VGA to 5BNC: feeding H and V into the Coded C / Ext. Sync inputs?
VGA to 4BNC: feeding sync to Ext. Sync input?
VGA to 3BNC with sync on green?

Here are two pictures which show all connectors on the back, maybe someone can give me advice what type of cable should work:

It would be great if anyone could give advice or maybe someone knows where to find a manual for the Barco CPM 2070?

Thanks!

I bet Mac may have a manual.

In the mean time, Tally is for the light that let's you know you're recording with a camera.

You need to use the BNC terminals. Try a VGA to 5 BNC cable, get a BNC 'T' connector and tie the H+V together and connect it to the Coded C/EXT Sync and see if that get's you a picture. Oh and try 640x480 from the PC ( if that's what you are using ) That's close to 31KHz. Don't try too high of a resolution, you may damage the monitor.

What source are you using?

Let us know if it works for you.

BTW: forgot to add. Welcome to the forum!

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. I hope I didn't damage anything by sending the VGA signal in.

Thanks, I will try that. Of course I'll only use 640x480.
I want to use various sources with the monitor, a PC but also my XBox 360 and Sega Dreamcast.

I will but I need to order a 5BNC online first so it may take a week or two.

Thanks, Hi to all Smile

Yes, he has manuals for things you've never heard of Laughing Give him time to find this post and check his listings.

I have the VGA to 5BNC cable now but sadly it doesn't work Sad

I tried feeding the H and V signal into a t-switch and then into the Ext. Sync input and also feeding H and V seperated into Coded C and Ext. Sync.

All I get is this:

The settings menu on the monitor looks like this:

As you can see it's not possible to select RGB and Coded C / Ext. Sync at the same time. I can only select RGB or Coded C.

So I guess the only option left is to use a VGA to 3BNC cable which has Sync on green? Would it be possible to just get another t-switch and feed Green, H and V into the Green input so I don't need to buy another cable?

Also as can be seen on the picture in my first post the monitor has B-Y / Y / R-Y inputs. I guess this is the Component input which can be set in the options menu? Would it be possible to use 3 male BNC to female Chinch adapters and feed a YUV cable into these?

Thanks for any advice!

Yes try YUV into the component. Weird monitor that you can't select RGB and RGBHV.
