Just got this one in, in fact it's still in the truck:
Barco 909 SEOS.
-January 2001 made.
-HFQ900 lenses (some didn't come with them as I found out)
- Should be a fairly high hour count on this one, probably 30K or so. To me, that's not a bad thing, since the chassis last 60K hours+, and the fact that it was on 24/7 means everything in it was stable. I will replace a bunch of caps that are known to go bad on the 909s, I've got a list now..
-light wear on the tubes from the pix I had emailed to me. I will post more tomorrow AM since it's going on the bench tomorrow. From what the seller said, he used the set for a month at home as is, and he didn't see the wear until I had him pull the lenses, but I'll make my own judgement on this tomorrow.
-case is in good shape. Minor scratches, but heck, the door covering the keypad is there, a rarity with any BArco.
-painted black.
-remote and ceiling bracket included. It's not a stock Barco bracket I think, but will hold it to the ceiling fine.
Here's what I'm pricing it at, based on what I know.
-$5000 with the tubes as is.
-$7500 with all new LUG tubes.
-$300 extra for colored G and R C elements that I can fit here, or send separately if you're going to do the retubing.
Will post pix once my main computer is back and running.

OK, update:
27K hours on the chassis. As I said yesterday, the case is very clean, even cleaner once I cleaned it. (still can't upload pix until I get my main computer back).
The existing red tube is perfect. The blue is about a 9 or so. Very even wear, right to the edge of the tube.
The existing green is about an 8 or so, but has low emission, so it needs to be changed. It's passable if you go into the color balance menu and turn down the red and blue and bump up the green, but for serious viewing, the green needs changing.
The capacitor mods have been done. The set is solid.
So, based on the above:
-$5K as is with existing tubes
-$6K with a new LUG green installed
-$7500 with all new LUG tubes.
-$300 more for colored R and G C elements installed.

Isn't the SEOS version of the Barco 909, called ... 919? That's a very early production date, the Barco ones didn't get to market (as per releases, brochures, and so on) till (late) 2002, guess the Belgians started supplying to the OEM first, just as the small DCi DLP, the 1200 didnt get any 'launch' in Europe and the US well over a year after Barco started supplying it to Asian cinema chains.

I have seen several 909 that were produced in 2001 (June/July I think) and earlier production lots dating back as far as November 2000 - these were all Barco 909 Reality units, not the SEOS version and this was in Europe.
Barco made several changes to the tray in the front between 11/2000 and 6/2001 and the 11/2000 units I saw had a different convergence module without the metal cover.

I helped install a system - which included two spanky new BR909's - in summer 2001, so those would have been manufactured fall '00 or spring '01.
I was done with my part of the install (audio and automation) and flew out Newark, NJ the week before 9/11, IIRC. I remember thinking about how easy it was to carry on an entire bag full of tools, from screwdrivers and pliers and wrenches, to butane solder irons and solder. Yeah, those days were over.
I and two other guys rolled those beasts from the loading dock, and lifted them onto the stands ourselves. GAWD, they were heavy. Oh, and sharp - oh, my. 1600x1200 was gorgeous... Almost looked like a digital it was so sharp. As Lighting McQueen would say, I'd give my left lugnut to have one.

Maybe you just hadn't gotten used to it yet. According to the Barco data on the site, a Cine9/CineMax (same chassis as 909?) weighs only 187lbs -- only 5 lbs heavier than your G70!
If you saw one next to a dumpster now, you'd probably sling it over your shoulder and run home without a second thought.

The data on the Mig is inaccurate, maam... Seriously, though... That's way wrong. The 909 is like the G90 - it's up around 250 pounds. 260, maybe for the 909... If you saw one, you'd know why... It's HUGE. DWARFS the G70! Hell, just those giant glass and metal lenses alone are probably 80 or 90 pounds!

No way I'd be able to sling it any way any how, but you can bet your ass it would be in da house if I ran across one!

The data sheet is correct on the Cine9 wieght. The lenses have actually lost some wight due to the use of plastic for the outer ring. 3 lenses weigh no more than 18kg, that is 40 pounds.

Maybe you're right, r.bauer... I looked up the 909 spec sheet, and it does indeed say 187lbs/85kg. Shipping weight is 260lbs/118kg, so maybe that's what stuck in my mind, since I had to move them from the dock. I guess the crate must have been a damn heavy crate!
Man, I can't believe the 909 isn't quite a bit heavier than the G70... The G70 has smaller tubes, plastic lenses, and it's a little more compact chassis than the 909. Well, I guess it was almost 10 years ago... Damn, I'm getting old.
Well, if I run across one, it'll be that much easier to load into my truck.

No, that's actually a legit post. THe parts are on the way as of last week. I haven't returned his email as I've been down and out in the last 2 weeks with the flu, so I've got little done.
Somewhere in transit some glycol leaked out of one of the tubes and got onto the HV splitter. I sent him a new HV splitter, but it seems the EHT died as well.

I dunno, I never go over there.
The post above however does jive with a customer that I sold a 909 to that I owed the HV parts to, and I sent a clear C element as well. I followed up after I posted above directly to the email that I have for him as well. No question I was late sending out the parts, and slow responding to his email 2 weeks ago. Still gettting up to speed in returning old emails, but should be caught up by Friday.
