All three side trim pieces finished, the one on the bottom is going to be engraved and will be done later. Also to do are the veneer filler pieces to close the gaps on the top and bottom.

Have been following the progress,

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.

As an owner of a Martin Logan 5 speaker HT setup, I so want to hear these, shame I live so far away.

What is going to be engraved? Name??

Keep up the GREAT work.

Cheers
Steve

Kim, those are beautiful.

Having actually heard the ESL-1's I'm looking forward to hearing them with the new amp at LSAF next year.

I've heard Kim's ESL's at 3 different LSAF's, both the Large ESL-1, and the smaller one's he had finished the Thursday night before the show Smile ( sounds like something I'd try to pull off...) . I've always thought they were outstanding loudspeakers. I love the dynamics of the ESL's. Kim's speakers also have excellent imaging too. It's worth a trip to this little boutique Audio Show just to hear these. It's a bonus that there are usually a whole pot full of other excellent things to hear too.

See you in May.

John

Steve,

Too far? Its only a 10 hour flight or so, thanks for the praise guys.

I am planning to engrave the 'Crescendo Systems' name and the 'ESL-0.88' model name. I need to check their capabilities to see if they can do it in my font.

Spend sometime designing the front panel for the interface box. This is only the first cut, before I send it off I have to be sure it all fits. I have attached it as a PDF.

Just a quick update, I finished mounting the trim on the second speaker, I will make some pictures tomorrow. Next up are the veneered filler strips.

I am sitting here listening to some Vangelis on the speakers literally watching paint (or in my case polyurethane varnish) dry and I have to say that the longer I listen to them the better they sound. I have them full range now, no crossover, and the amount of bass is actually pretty good. A sub would go deeper/louder but I am actually not missing anything. I am starting to rethink the high pass coupling cap.

i've had full range 'stats for about 20 years (ML CLS) and i've never had an issue with the bass. string bass in particular is exquisite. Try some Jay Leonhart (DMP label) or Holly Cole's first album.

So will your customer ever get them, or have you lived with them so long you decided to adopt them?? Laughing

Ok, long time no update. I just got the emblems in, the question is now on top or on the front. Ignore the blue tape, that's just for the mock-up.

Yup, I prefer the front. The silver plate looks a lot better against the black instead of wood. But again, the customer's in charge.

Just received the WBT connectors and after remeasuring their dimensions I could order the front and ear panels of the interface box. I should get those in the first week of January.

This is the last stuff to order, shipping is imminent.
