Ok but we have pictures of 07MFP2
If you make some photo of 09MEX2 we can compare the pinouts.

Have you solved of the full brightness issue? If yes, how?

No I have not but I suspect the full brightness is caused by NO G1.

Here are two neck cards of two 9" Sony tubes. If you look very closely at the SD146a neck card you can see it is labeled and has pin 9 connected to g1 (pin 4 is lower right and pin 5 is labeled g2). If you look at BG808s neck card you can see pin 9 is not connected. Sorry I cannot put label on picture at the moment.

Perhaps there's a connect to other side of pcb (BG808s) because pin 9 inside tube is surely G1 (see my pictures), unfortunately my pictures not show pin n.13, sorry.

Pinout appear the same in your pictures both in two necks with only one difference.

In SD146a pin 9 and 13 (G1) appear jumpered, not same thing in BG808s neck

Perhaps in BG808s G1 is connect only pin n.9 instead in 09MEX2 G1 connect both 9 and 13, I don't know.

You can try to add jumper from 13 to 9 in BG808s neck like SD146a.

But in your own risk.

Perhaps I understand the km987654 mistery Very Happy

Below image (socket side) from BG808s service manual (R762721 RGB out amp).
I write now REAL pinout of R762721 neckboard.

1= Arc suppressor
2= none
4= none (in 07MFP2 there's a pin G1 connected inside tube but I think that's inactive in socket)
5= G2
6= heater
7= heater
8= none
9= G1
10= Cathode
11= none
12= none
13= NONE!!! (in 07MFP2 there's a pin G1 connected inside tube but I think that's inactive in socket)

You not have G1 in your 9" tube perhaps because G1 must be in n 13 pin.
See inside your tube if pin 13 is G1.

If yes put a jumper from pin 9 and pin 13 in R762721 neckboard. Should work!

Yes pin 9 to pin 13 was also my thinking Although g1 seems to connected to pin 8 on bg808s neck board so perhaps 8 to 9 would work. Others on this forum say they just plug these tubes in and they worked. I cannot see how that is possible and it would also seem 8 and 9 inch tubes are some how different even if pin out looks similar.

My Multimetre is telling me that g1 is on pin 9. So pin 9 to pin 4 (or 13) is the likely solution.

Yes.
You will modify your neckboards?

I will modify a neck board and try it.

It is interesting that when I place the neck board on a tube the multimeter shows that the all tube pins for g1 make a circuit which seems to suggest that they should all work and if that is right then g1 on pin 9 should just work and it does not.

Today I take a old (toasted) Sony 07MFP2

I see inside tube and this is the pinout

1= arc suppressor
2= none
3= no pin
4= G1
5= G2
6= heater
7= heater
8= none
9= G1
10= cathode
11= none
12= none
13= G1
14= no pin

I can confirm that pins 4, 9 and 13 are "short" inside tube.

So after our posts in this topic we can say that neck R762721 (Barco Graphics 808s) have G1 from pin 9.
Pins 4 and 13 are inactive in socket.

Unfortunately I don't have Sony 9" tubes and I can't see where G1 is connected inside tube.

Ok I have modified the bg808s neck board by connecting pin 9 to 4 and 9 to 13 (at separate times) and no change the tube goes to full brightness.

Maybe I will need to get an 8" tube to see if it works.

uhmmmmmm Confused

Some time ago I had a Panasonic neckboard (75mhz) with a broken resistor and tube worked to full brightness.
You should check if the neckboard works well with a 07MFP2 (BG808s default tube).

Yes I think I shall obtain an 8" tube and try it. I have many of the bg808s neck boards and I have tried a couple of them with the same result.

Just to clear this up you can use 120mhz rgb amps with sony 9" tubes without modification.

The problem of no image was caused by two bad boards in the projector at the same time. Both the R762719 and R76XX20 were bad. I have several of these and I did change them one at a time but I was changing one bad board against another bad board. Once I found out I was using a bad batch of boards I brought in a known good set and everything works. The first test was done with a modified neck board with pin 9 connected to pin 13 as discussed earlier but then I tried an unmodified neck board and that works as well. I had been purchasing boards for this project well before I started putting it all together but I did not have any way of testing them before building this projector and of course each person that sold me boards said they were tested and working.

Now at least I have internal test patterns working.

Thumbs Up
I'm happy for you!

I would try to modify same 120mhz necks.
But for 9" crt panasonic Cool

.... soon

More about pinouts.
Here is an oddity.

Look the red and green neckboards, they are rotated 90 clockwise respect the regular blue.
The PCB is different of course. Part number is R7630271-01

I shoot these photos some days ago, the projector is a Barco Reality 909, tubes are P19LPB's.

Will P19lugs work in a Barco Cine8 ?

Are the Cine8 neckboards 1:1 compatible with the P19Lugs ?

thanks

At least, the BR908 use P16LXV tubes with the same CRT sockets as the BR909 with LUGs ; and I use P16LXV in my 808 (with 75MHz RGB amp)
However, the P19LUG has a KH grid, that is not connected in the Cine8/808 CRT boards, which should be not critical if it remains unconnected, but it should be better to ground it via large resistor (1 - 10MOhms)
