so 3D-Theatre will make my optoma hd86 pj to display 3d at 60hz. as well my optoma rd65 tv at 60hz

Yes. 3D Theatre works with all HD 60Hz TV/Projectors and display 3D contents.

How is 60 Hz 3D supposed to work? Every other frame goes to a different eye instead of both eyes getting new information each frame? I'm guessing that would give you a headache.

What makes this product special vs the 3D-Theater to allow it functionality to watch DirectTV?

Still want to pick up the "Displayer" model, just trying to gather up the funds.

There should be a lot of interest here as these products will make CRT FP's work with the latest 3D tech. Makes me wish I still had my G70, I can only imagine how great things like Tron and Tangled would look on a G70 or G90 or Marquee.

Does the displayer produce as good a 3d image on regular projectors as the vip theater does on 3d ones? Im ready to buy whichever one works better right now.

Were any tests run on CRT projectors ? Furthermore how about a list of projectors that have not only been tested as being compatible but also excel in 3D ?
