Hi,

Would like to check with you guys how do I re-calibrate my PJ when I input the new signal of 720p/120hz.

When we calibrate the PJ we need to align example the red onto green but in 3D we should be seeing double image so may I know how do I do convergent on 3D.

Or simply just calibrate at 720p/60hz will do.

Thanks in advance any help.

Cheers

Hi,

I have calibrated specially for 720p@120Hz. This is not a big problem, put a
720p@120Hz (3D)-Signal on input and then go on with calbration as usual.
The 3D-Image is then perfectly alligned.

Dear Prover,

Thanks, that means I can only use the internal test pattern and it will look the same when calibrating 2D.

I believe at the moment there is no 3D calibrating disc in the market.

No there are no technical differences for the cables between 1.3 and 1.4. A good
1.3 cable will do.

Hi Prover,

Sorry to trouble you again. I'm very new to HTPC.
When I set my Blu Ray Player example output resolution 1080p, in regard whether I play DVD or Blu Ray it will upscale to 1080p even for DVD.

How about HTPC. If I set 720p/120hz for 3D, when I play 2D material will it output at 1080p or 720P/120hz?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, since I'm a newbie.

Cheers

Hi Began,

yes a dedicated bluray player will upscale everything to 1080p.
On an HTPC you set the resolution e.g. to 720p@120Hz for 3D.
No matter what for material you play (2D DVD, 2D bluray, 3D bluray,
or media-Files) you will output 720p@120Hz. The output of the software
player is being implicitely scaled up (for DVD) or scaled down (for Bluray),
so your output is always what you have set for display resolution.
In this context there is an interesting feature that some players (like PowerDVD Ultra Mark II)
provide for DVD: runtime conversion to 3D. For some films this works pretty well
(e.g. Tron), try out!

Thanks Prover,

That mean I can't watch 2D bluray at 1080p when I set the out resolution at 720p/120hz.

Alternatively I would have to switch resolutions for different material if I doesn't want Bluray to be down convert to 720p.

Am I right.

Dear Prover,

Need your help. Using HTPC to watch movie no problem. If I want to use the PS 3 anyway to connect via the HTPC. I do not have the moome ext box for 3d.

Thanks

Hi Began,

I am not sure I understand right what the problem is. If u want to use PS3 to
play 3D games using 3dvision in HTPC without having the moome box, this is
possible although far from optimum. You have to do the following:

    - Open Nvidia control pannel on HTPC
    - Start Nvidia 3dvision test application on HTPC
    - connect PS3 to your display/projector and start in 3D mode

This will allow the glasses to work but there is no synchonization to PS3 unless
you use a DLP-Projector that allows you to synchronize via mini-DIN jack
on Nvidia IR-emitter.

Hi,

Need some help here.

Finally got the Asrock 3D vision HTPC. Unfortunately unable to get 3D picture. Whenever I do the 3d set up it state Non 3D display.

BTW check Nvidia website site Sony G70 is not listed on 3D vision requirement website so how do make nvidia accept G70 as a 3d display.

Thanks

The PS3 can do 1080p@120 but the Moome can't take it and the 1292 either.

Are you sure 1292 can't? Let's try it and you'll be surprised Wink

I am not very confident that this would work, have you ever tried it out?
It would be interesting if this would be possible.

Oh I read this only today...

I tried 1080p@120Hz with vga output of the htpc. 1292 syncs with it because horizontal rate is like 134,7KHz and the maximum allowed from specifications is 135! The picture is far less detailed than the 720 but not too much different than the 1080@72p

Hi Prover,

Thanks, manage to get them to accept the PJ, however I'm not using the Nvidia emitter and glasses.

They keep repeating hardware test fail. I'm using 2dtv corp new PC Kit.

Anyway to go around or I need to buy Nvidia 3d kit.

Thanks

Hi Prover,

OK, set up ok, because forget to turn the glasses upside. Now set up complete.

BTW I'm using Power DVD 10 and playing MKV file may I know any setting in PowerDVD to watch 3D or all fully automatic.

Thanks for all your help.
