Nvidia GT 430 will bitstream HD audio via the HDMI and DVI port. Sells for less than $80.

sounds good, problem is i only have one pci-e slot, was looking at the Asus Xonar HD1.3AV, not sure but it seems to do video as well?? i think.

my sound comes through my 5.1 analog surround sound at the mo.

It'll take a lot to get better sound than the onboard analog will. Just stick with that. Unless you want to invest in pricier analog outs, or get into hdmi and bitstreaming which has tons of problems too.

Sometimes you're further ahead to just stay where you are. Smile

i currently use a pro-sound 5.1 with digi/optical I/O sound card
