Since now I taught that the PC is the most flexible player of movies.
But now I set up my PJ and noticed some issues:
1.) With avi-wmv-mpg (HD or not HD) type files: In fast scenes the picture seeming breaking at near to the top-left corner in a skew line, parallel with the picture diagonal. It is not depending on refresh rate (at least 60/75/85 Hz all did)
2.)With DVDs I didn't noticed the problem above but the fast moves are still uneven.
Are these normal behaviors or need some more tweaking?

What is the frame rate of your source video? Your video output needs to match that, or at least be equally divisible by that number. For instance, you're playing a bluray movie that is 24 frames per second, but your projector is set to 60hz. With this situation DVD's should look decent as it's divisible (60 / 30 fps). However blurays would look terrible.
I run mostly bluray content which is 24 fps. My display is set at 1080i@96hz. Therefore the screen is redrawn 4 times for every frame of video content. Very smooth playback. Reclock will help with this too. Even though you can get really close to matching the framerate, reclock will do the rest.
I hope this is technically accurate. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks,
Dale

My movies are usualy 25fps types (only some with 24fps) so I made a 75Hz mode to my PJ. Unfortunately I have ATI video card and by default it is only supporting 60,75,85Hz refresh rates at 1280*720 -I'll try to tweak with powerstrip.
Thanks for help!

in my notebook i have an ati graphic chip and a similar issue, on fast screen content changes i can see a Z-like pattern on the screen, maybe thats your problem as well?
I use my htpc at 1080i and have two modes, 72Hz and 75Hz for 24fps and 25fps content, looks absolutly smooth. Maybe you can enable vertical sync for video somewhere in your driver setup?
