Save $700 on ChromaPure Professional

Until the end of September we're offering a ChromaPure Standard to Professional upgrade for only $100 instead of $800 for existing ChromaPure users! (See below for conditions and rules).

So for about the cost of one extra meter licence, you get support for all meters plus all the extra pro features. A real bargain - Even for home users interested in adding just one extra meter any time in the future. You'll also get the Duo and Radiance auto-calibrate feature for free once released in the Fall of 2010. Just click a button and have ChromaPure calibrate completely automatically. It's really that simple!

New features in ChromaPure 2.0:

  • A new Contrast module for measuring on/off and checkerboard contrast
  • A new Advanced Color Management module for measuring color at different levels of saturation and amplitude
  • A new Data Conversion module for converting xyY into a variety of other formats
  • A new option for grayscale/gamma readings in 5% increments
  • Support for the Spyder3 colorimeter
  • Support for the DVDO Duo video processor as a signal generator
  • Support for the Lumagen Radiance video processor as a signal generator
  • ChromaPure now comes in two versions—Standard and Professional. The differences between the two versions are:
The Professional version supports high-end color analyzers, including:
    - Minolta CS-200 colorimeter
    - Photo Research PR-655/670 spectroradiometer
    - Orb Optronics SP100/JETI Specbos 1201 spectroradiometer
    - JETI Specbos 1211 spectroradiometer
    - Klein K-10 colorimeter (no longer supported in the Standard Version)
    - X-Rite Hubble/Sencore OTC-1000 colorimeter (no longer supported in the Standard Version)
The Professional version also supports high-end signal generators, including:
    - Sencore VP40x
    - Quantum Data 780
    - Accupel HDG-3000/4000 (no longer supported in the Standard Version)
The Professional version includes licensing for professional use (no longer supported in the Standard Version)
The Professional version includes licensing for an unlimited number of meters
The Professional version includes support for individually customized Excel-based reports
The Professional version includes licensing for Duo/Radiance auto-calibrate when available (will also be available in the Standard version as an optional add-on). Auto-calibrate lets Duo and Radiance owners click a button in ChromaPure and have their display be calibrated automatically.
Enhanced features in ChromaPure 2.0:

  • Users can now click File, New Session to clear out all existing data and start a new calibration session. The active meter connection remains.
  • The Raw Data module now includes an option for data export to .csv file.
  • Gamma module now includes RGB data.
  • The Color Management module now includes support for 3 color spaces: HSL, RGB, and xyY.
  • The Grayscale and Color Gamut modules now allow user to select any reading at any time. Auto-advance is maintained.
  • The Reports module brings back support for Excel-based reports. Integrated reports are maintained.
Bug fixes in ChromaPure 2.0:

  • There was a bug that resulted in unpredictable results and instability with the French character set. This has been fixed.
  • There was a bug with the X-Rite Hubble in which it would read only fL. It now reports luminance in fL and cd/m2 correctly.
  • Because of the placement of the OK and Cancel buttons on the Options window, they would not appear when using some some video cards. This has been fixed.
Upgrading to ChromaPure 2.0:

  • Current ChromaPure users who purchased on or after June 1, 2010 are entitled to a free upgrade to Version 2.0. Email us at chromapure@curtpalme.com for your free upgrade instructions!
  • All other users may upgrade from any earlier version to ChromaPure Standard 2.0 for a special CurtPalme.com discounted price of $55.95. See our ChromaPure order page.
  • Any existing ChromaPure user who has upgraded to 2.0 may also upgrade their license to the new Professional version now for $100. This is a one-time-only discounted offer and is good only through September 30, 2010 for existing customers. After that, all upgrades from Standard to Professional version will be $800. Thinking of adding one extra meter? Upgrade now for about the same price and automatically add all meters! See our ChromaPure order page.

Kal,
Have you played with this version? I am hoping to get the chance to talk to Tom at Cedia and play with CP2.

I have not, but there's not much I'd 'see' anyway as compared the v 1.3.x since v2 is mostly all about adding new hardware support (Spyder3 meter, Duo/Radiance as signal generators, and a bunch of pro meters and pattern generators).

I suppose there is also the following new features:

- A new Contrast module for measuring on/off and checkerboard contrast.
- A new Advanced Color Management module for measuring color at different levels of saturation and amplitude.
- A new Data Conversion module for converting xyY into a variety of other formats.
- A new option for grayscale/gamma readings in 5% increments.

Some of the other features were also enhanced and some minor bug fixes were included too. Complete list is in my first post above.

Here are some screenshots of new features to whet your appetite: Smile

I have had a chance to work with it for a few days and it works quite well with some nice new features. It essentially picks-up where V1.3 left off without a hitch. I am glad to see that Tom implemented the White point/Gamma "all-in-one" table in this new version. I was curious, however, in the implementation of the new ACM tables there are, of course readings going from 100% down to 25%. I have only seen test patterns either at 100 or 75, nothing below that. Other than perhaps some expensive test pattern generators, are there are any test discs(Pref BR)available that would offer the four levels of colour amplitude displayed in these new tables?

Also, in the new Data Conversion Utility, what is the best suited to CRTs? Is it still XyY?

Don't confuse 10%/75% test patterns that vary in amplitude only with various percentages of saturation, which keep the same amplitude but vary in the distance to the white point. The former is quite common. The latter much less so.

The AVSHD disc supports this, and they will shortly be releasing a version that specifically supports ChromaPure.

Data conversion is universal for all display types. It is just for research.
