I’ve been running an HTPC for a while now, duplicating the output, one to HDMI, the other to RGBHV: the former straight to the receiver (for sound only), the latter straight to the CRT projector (G70). That all works a treat for Bluray (commercial player) as I also use Slysoft’s AnyDVDHD to strip the HDCP.
I recently acquired a DVDO VP50Pro. I was hoping to plug the output of the receiver into an HDMI input and output on RGBHV (HDCP turned off). A simpler setup and I then get all the on-screen stuff from the receiver. Additionally, the scaler function such as easier aspect control etc.
I use some very non-standard resolutions and timings:
1152x864p@75 for PAL DVD
1920x1080P@48 for 24fps Blooos.
Problem: Can I get the wretched Vp50pro to output anything other than 60hz - can I heck!
I eventually found the “advanced” setting which gave me access to all the fields in the custom resolution settings and after ages holding the button in while the width and height slooooowly incremented, I arrived at the same settings as the DVD setting. What I can’t seem to get working is the timings.
What I’m after is “Match the output timing to the source timing”. Also there doesn’t appear to be an option for 48Hz in the list.
I’m tempted to bin the Vp50pro and go back to the old method.
Incidentally, I’ve tried Moome cards, HDFurys etc and had all sorts of problems (image shifted way over to the left etc.), so they are absolutely not an option. I have just a few yards to the projector so RGBHV is still for me.
Any help would be much appreciated!

If i remember right you need to select the right output format.. If you use 1080P 24hz its not sure you can set 60 hz or 48 hz.. Or 1080P 60hz cant set 48hz.. You need to play with it and see what format alows you to set your wanted framerate.
Maybe you need to trick it, inputting another framerate so you can access you wanted format..

I think its possible to make it do what you need .. just can be a bit tricky working around the bugs..

The VP50Pro is full of bugs, and i sold mine, and kept the old VP50 who work much better.

The VP50Pro is a perfectly good reason not to buy any products from DVDO again.. EVER..!!
