The site let a spammer get registered somehow... admins should send a message out to everyone letting them know to ignore the post. Luckily their english is so bad it's easy to tell it's spam.

I just got mine. I was quite confused, since I haven't posted anything controversial in the off-topic forum for quite a while, and so had no reason to expect a PM! Very Happy

I got the same spam. I figured it was spam because I hadn't been here in months! (Hi!)

Edit: Forgot to add, I thought it was funny that the spammer's profile listed their hobbies as "sport." Which one? Oh, you know, all of 'em!

Hi guys, I've edited out the link. Just to be one the safe side. We don't want anyone to click on it and end up with a trojan. Plus we don't want to advertise for the spammers

After all these spammers are about as valuable as a used trojan in a gutter.

Please ignore the SPAM message. It is a hoax to try and get you to click on some external link.

I've made some changes to the forum software. A user must now have at least 5 public posts before they can send PMs. I think (hope) that should stop these PM spammers dead in their tracks. Spamming through PMs goes under the radar to some degree as the mods don't see them.

Damn spammers. Get a real job you losers!

The user's already filled out a complex CAPCHA when they first signed on so no need to punish the legit users with annoying security.
