Oh man! I'm visualizing, and just thinking of that is giving me a shoulder and back ache! So you basically got it close via the chains, and then one side at a time, you took off the hooks and shoved that side up onto your rods and threaded the nut. You basically kept your nice welded fixture on the PJ and just removed the hooks so that the threaded rod pictured in your previous posts could be used.

I use chains as well but I built a plywood and 2x4 "deck" that the projector sits on, when it gets up to the top I can lift each side the last little bit into the mount and move it back and forth without all the weight being on the chains and pulling it. I also have a set of short safety chains that attach the projector to the lift points when it is mounted....just in case.

How did you secure the chains to the ceiling while you lifted it? I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to lift my 1272 (w/mounting bracket) 7 feet up onto the unistrut.
