It has been along time. since I have posted on here but I wanted to share a few pictures of my theater build.
The first pic is of my really rough space. Bare with me it gets better. A few years ago I took this picture while I was digging inside drains in the basement of my 1947 home. After I put is drains and pored concrete floor back I removed a load bearing block wall and replaced it with a beam. the theater space is 12'X21' I am not doing anything for sound isolation except for insulating the walls and ceiling. this basement will also be a game room with billiards bar snack counter and bathroom.

Next is a picture a few months later. I had half the floor done with dry core. the basement sat this way for about a year while I was busy with other things.

Looking back on these pictures I wonder how I lived with such a crappy basement below my feet.here is a picture of those things I told you I was busy with above ground that kept me away from the theater. The first is a before picture from around 1999 when I bought my home. And the second was taken in 06. I did all the work my self.

Love the property in general..looks like the back of the property is suited for a natural amphitheater, either for bands or a large outdoor theater....

My next door neighbor is selling her home you can move in I will even put up some of your projectors for you. as soon as I find the camera cable I will upload the pics I just took. project is starting to come together.

got some new pictures. The first one is the screen wall as it is today. and the next two are the recessed projector mount. I had to cut two floor joists to recess the projector. I will run a cooling vent through the joist span to the furnace room.

in the last room i ran RGBHV and that handles my scaler just fine. the one coming up will get HDMI in addition to the RGBHV.
BUT the biggest consideration is to run empty conduit pipe to the projector. that allows you to put anything you want up there... it's worth it.

Put in conduit if you can. One for what you run now and a spare one for the future.
Or just future proof the crap out of it.

I agree... Do conduit if you can. I just went and got 4" PVC drain pipe so I could run any old damn cable I wanted at any point later. Instead of one huge pipe like I did (which I admit was kind of goofy), you could also do several runs of low-voltage flex-conduit (some people call it Smurf tube). You can usually get it at Lowes or Home Depot. Put a pull-string in there, and you can pull any old cable you want, short of terminated DVI, VGA or RGBHV.

Excellent advice. I did run extra 3/4" conduit x4 when I was planing my theater out it still wasn't large enough or enough for what I ended up doing only a year later.
So using your 4" pipe idea isn't as crazy{for us anyway} as it sounds.
When I build a home I always run a 3" pvc pipe from the crawl space to the attic for future wire or whatever. And on a Cape Cod I also always run plumbing up too, because it so much easier then later.
2 story homes get a complete Chaseway from crawl or basement to the attic, because I guarantee you'll need it later.
But even with all that thought I had to cut my drywall and fish the 2nd HDMI for my new moome card because I hadn't foreseen a need for anything extra for the P/J.
Who knows what will happen later so the biggest pipe you can run safely is the best.

I ran 4" PVC between the false wall and unfinished side of the basement, and between the projector and equipment rack. I'm glad I did!

just noticed this so it might be too late but, I used central vac tube and fittings to build a wire chase from the rack to the projector and another to the front of the room for speaker wire etc .

Just curious how you went from your nice chain fixture on your PJ to your final mount? Or do those hooks hook into your final mount on the sealing? Do you have any shots of that?
