Reviews/Testimonials

"Just finished installing and I'm quite impressed. I have an older Dwin CRT projector that must be forced negative sync. I was having to use a BUF2000 for that purpose and now I am able eliminate that device due to the HDFury3's set up options. I am outputting RGB and my picture was shifted slightly right but with two or three pushes of the shift button it shifted right into place. I'm using this with the DVDO Edge and the combination is truly stunning. I'm outputting at 720p. What is truly remarkable are the blacks. I've always thought my blacks were pretty darn good and that my greyscale was set up right but I cannot believe how much better they look now. The unit itself is nice looking, although I think the HDfury2 was nicer but it's buried in a cabinet anyway, and it is much larger that the original versions. With the trade in deal I know I made the right decision to upgrade and I'm extremely happy with my new toy." - Tim

"Mine was delivered this morning pretty much as advertised. I was essentially looking for a "seamless" transition in performance from my HDfury2 and that is what I got. So far, so good. The inclusion of the little screwdriver to adjust any of the "tiny" dip switches was a nice "touch". " - Ron W

"I just wanted to let you know that I received the HDfury3 today, hooked it up and . . . OMG! My daughter and I played Bioshock and then watched MIB on Blu-ray, and all I can say is . . . Squee!! Thanks again!" - Deborah

"The HDfury3 landed on Saturday morning! Worked like a charm from the word go, no issues whatsoever. PS3 on one end and a 1080i Sony 53" projection TV at the other. HDfury3 connected to PS3 with a HDMI 1.3 cable. Wonderful picture quality, a delight to watch." - Dep

"Received my HDFury 3 in the UK today. Using latest Amstrad (250GB) Sky HD box. Output set to 1080i. TV is Panasonic plasma TH-37PE50B using component input. HDFury 3 works straight out of the box. I set it up in about 5 minutes. You wouldn't even know it was there if it was not for the nice blue LED! Brightness and colour exactly the same as "normal" TV no adjustments needed. No switching lag at all when changing Sky channels. Audio 3.5 mm to twin phono socket on TV from HDFury3 used. Works fine. I can now watch programmes in HD! Overall it performs just like I hoped that it would. Thanks guys you have saved me lots of money on a new TV." - Foghorn

"Between the HDfury3 and HDfury2, the HDfury3 is MUCH better in every category and as a result the HDfury3 has a better image." - Craig Rounds, official HDfury3 tester, professional calibrator (www.cir-engineering.com)

Update:

We've decided to allow people to use even non-working HDFury1 and HDfury2 units in this trade-in program. So any HDFury1/HDfury2 is ok (working or not).

You may also trade in any number of older (working or non-working) units.

For complete details see the first post of this thread.

Update:

The manufacturer started shipping out HDfury3 orders a couple of days ago (March 12). The first 50 units are now in the mail!

To check your status visit our HDfury3 order page and click on "TRACK MY ORDER". If no information is provided, your order has not shipped yet. Wait a couple of days and try again. We're told that all pre-orders should be shipped out by the end of the week.

I should be getting my Fury3 delivered in the next day or two. Just following up to see how soon we will be receiving instructions as to how soon AND "where" we ship our trade-in units for the refund?

Hopefully soon - I've been bugging the manufacturer with some last minute trade-in ideas that need a go/no-go decision. I expect something in the next 48 hrs or so.

When I was offered an updated HDFury3 I asked if I could return both the old HDFury3 and my trade-in HDFury2 in the same package to save costs. I was told that I could do this, and I have done just today. I noted on the packaging that it contained both units, but what I haven't done is include a copy of my receipt.

Is an actual HDFury3 as good as a receipt? Is there any further action I should take?

That is perfect! I will also send my HF1 with the return package for the HDFURY3. Good hint on the receipt, I will include that (although as you say, sending the HF3 should really be enough).

Steady! Is it the same delivery address? Have I been given bad advice? Wait until somebody says that I'm not in trouble before trying it yourself.

Perhaps we will have to get Kal to confirm that this is OK, but for those of us that are returning a defective Fury3 along with taking advantage of the "trade-in" program, it certainly would be good to know that this could be done and it certainly would simplify things, at least from the purchasers perspective.

Yes, that is fine. Return both at the same time. Make sure to include the Hdfury3 invoice so that they know who to credit. You may want to write on the receipt "I'm returning my Hdfury2 as a credit against my HDfury3 order" just to be sure they know what you're doing.

See the first post of this thread for the steps to upgrade from HDfury2 to HDfury3.

I have two questions about the HDFury trade-in: 1) What needs to be returned? Just the HDFury or the HDFury, cable and/or power supply? 2) Has anyone figured the most cost-effective method to return the HDFury to Taiwan?
Has anyone figured the most cost-effective method to return the HDFury to Taiwan?
I just checked on the Fedex and UPS website. Those prices to Taiwan from the Washington DC area are ridiculous even with the cheapest method. From both Fedex and UPS on a 2 lbs package to Taiwan is $79.13. That means you can only get about $20 back on a trade-in for a HDfury2 ($100 - $80) and your losing $30 if you trade in your HDfury1 ($50 - $80).

Looks like the good old US postal service (if you are in the USA) is the way to go. According to the website, Priority Mail International Small Flat Rate is $13.45.

USPS is most certainly the best way from the US. You only need to send back the dongle so pack it up small and it should be pretty cheap.

I would recommend some form of tracking if you want to know what's going on. The manufacturer cannot be responsible for items that customers send that get lost in the mail.

Wow, I just went to the US post office and they said that anything confirmed would be $25-$28. That is alot cheaper then UPS or FedEx, but that is still alot. If I didn't want to confirm it, it was actually lower then the $14 that I quoted eariler at $7.

I'm probably just going to keep it or sell it on Ebay (which is may be IC Boss is counting on) then risk senting it back to Taiwan.
