Hyundai HPTD 4202s 42 inch plasma tv.
Ok here goes, i picked this tv up cheap as faulty, the fault in question was that it would not take any inputs, Ie no scart inputs would work you just got a jumbled coloured screen (mostly green or pink with lines running horizontal.. only static sound was being output) the only time you could get a picture off any aux input was when i set tv in picture in picture mode and it was the small 2nd station image that was showing, i was informed when i got it that it would however accept a pc input and get picture, after some tinkering i found that it would accept my ps3 via the component input on tv which was ideal as this was what it was for and i could get digital tv through my ps3 so all was good.. ish.... after about 2 months with no problems (other than a constant buzzing noise from top right hand corner at rear of tv which i got used to so it didnt fuss me that much as tv only cos me £50) the tv suddenly stopped showing the ps3, i did have a picture but it looked as if it was out of tune (fuzzy and distorted) and it was completely green any pictures being made up of different shades of green so un usable, i emailed a guy about repair and he said it sounded as if it was the X SUS or Y SUS boards and repair would be expensive, i was hoping to replace it myself but cannot find one for my model anywhere online, there is also the fact that i dont know which board or if indeed both need replaced, i then read a reply to another problem similar to mine and saw that sometimes all that is required is trimming the connector cables that join the boards up..... i know the actual screen is a samsung plasma S42SD-YD07.
I would be greatful if anyone could maybe shed some more light on this problem for me so that i may repair it for as little as possible as i am currently unemployed and cant really afford much. Thanks for taking the time to read my message and i hope to hear from someone soon.
Cheers, Rab.
