|

I have a Monaco Optix colorimeter that I am trying to use with ColorHFCR software. So far, I have been unsuccessful. I have used the Xrite DPT-94 (a.k.a. old Monaco Optix) DLL file with HFCR software, but the software won't recognize the Monaco Optix hardware. Does anyone have any leads to the Team from France who built the ColorHFCR software? I am hoping they, or anyone else, might be able to advise on a 'patch' in order to use the Monaco Optix hardware.

Thats the exact same model I use and it works fine with HCFR.
You definately copied the xdslll.dll from the Xrite folder to \Program Files\Colorimeter_HCF\ (main program directory)?
Some more info here that may help http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=9382120

Hi Paul B:
Thank you for your suggestions. I used the XdsIII.dll file (version 1.1.12.1) which did not work. So then I downloaded your file version XdsII.dll (v. 1.0.0.51) which did not work for the Monaco Optix I have either.
I get an error message that reads: "CANNOT OPEN LOGICAL CONNECTION TO DTP DEVICE" when trying to use it with the ColorHFCR software.
The Monaco Optix colorimeter works great with its own software on Windows XP, but not with ColorHFCR.
I have attached a picture of the Monaco Optix.... maybe a different model than the one you have been successful with. I would be pleased if you could confirm this.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thats really weird, mine is exactly the same name but looks like this http://www.sofos.sk/Prilohy/254060004060_0.pdf
Clearly different hardware, no wonder it doesn't work. The HCFR guys hang out a lot in the Calibration Forum at AVSForums, might be worth a try there.
Barring that, you could try sell the Monoco and pick up an Eye-One D2 or move to Calman perhaps but either way it will cost you money
Sorry,
Paul

Hi Paul:
Thank you for the confirmation on a different model of Monaco Optix hardware.
l think I'm going to have to purchase an Eye-One D2 if I want to utilize ColorHCFR.
God Bless, John.

I have the exact same colorimeter (monaco Optix). I copied over the dll, tried a whole lot of things but couldnt get it to work either. Ultimately I bought a eye one display2 to do the calibration.

Paul,
I am late to this thread, but wonder if you could help me. I have the exact same DTP94 as yours (same as in the link you provided). I am having exact same problem while using DTP94 with HCFR. I am running XP professional OS (32bit), and have tried xdsIII.dll version 1.2.0.0 and 1.0.0.51 and get the exact same error "cannot open logical connection to DTP device". I tried to flash BIOS. I am going to update motherboard driver (wonder if this is USB interface problem) and see if this will fix it.
Any idea what is going on? Also, wonder if you could provide the zip version of your DTP driver and xdsIII.dll or if you could PM me, I will appreciate it.
Regards,
Satbir

Hi Paul (or any other kind person),
I am a new member here and found this place via google search. I own a DTP-94 (Monaco Optix XR) which is exactly like yours but I am unable to locate the XdsIII.ddl driver.
Could you please send it to me, I will really appreciate it. I have downloaded HCFR but I need to put that driver in the same directory folder as the application for it to work. I have looked everywhere but I cannot find that driver.
Your kind help in the matter will be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Sam

Sam | Probably file is not going to work if it's taken from another computer, least that was case with spyder.dll file and HCFR. It was needed to install spyder colorimeter software to same computer and copy .dll from spyder software folder to HCFR folder, both was in C:program files.

Thanks Ile,
The problem is that my software is Apple Mac based, I'm not sure if I got the PC software in my package too. I'll check. I got the DTP-94 in the Pulse Color Elite Package that I bought.
Is there any resources on the internet where I can download the driver (XdsIII.ssl) for the DTP-94 ???
Best regards,
Sam

Hi Ile,
Have just confirmed, when I bought my Pulse Kit from Xrite, I specified that I need the Apple Mac version. Therefore, it came with only one software CD for Mac (OS X). I have no PC (Windows XP) version.
This can't be that difficult, I'm sure someone here can tell me how to solve this problem.
The Mac version of the HCFR software does not support the DTP-94 (Monaco Optix XR) but the latest PC version does support it. I don't mind the PC version as long as I can make it work with my DTP-94 Colorimeter.
A few questions:-
1. Do I need a diffuser attachment for my DTP-94 ?
2. What are the best calibration patterns to download for use with HCFR for both BD (HD) and DVD (SD) ?
3. Is CalMan better than HCFR (Any source of a realistic down to earth comparison on the net ? )
If the difference is not substantial, I'd rather use HCFR simply because it is free !
I understand calibration to a good level so simple technical explanations are welcome.
Any help on the matter will be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Sam
