I'm looking for a used dvd player that's region free. Oppos are the only ones that seem to come up, but I don't need an upconverting player, as I have a dvdo with the abt card, so I just want to feed it a 480i signal, and I have tons of r2 discs, so i'm looking for something that will play ntsc & pal discs.
Any suggestions?

You might be able to find a Malata, they used to be region free in the past with a keycode.

A Momitsu 880 DX can be switched to region free and also output custom timings.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked those players at the benchmark shootout site, and I think i'm gonna go for the oppo 980, since I can feed 480i over hdmi to my vp30 with the abt card.
