This is a source issue, not a Fury2 issue, which is why I'm posting here. Took a Fury2 over to a customer's house yesterday to work with his NEC XG, a BR player and a Shaw HD cable box. It's 2 months old. BR player works fine right up to 1080p (Yes, the NEC has the foldover issue, I'm running it at 1080i).
The Shaw box only has a momentary output, then dies. If it occasionally stays on, the colors are messed up, the background is all green, and the colors are very pastel and supersaturated. DVI to HDMI cable is 6' long, a local generic cable that has worked well in other installs.
Customer called Shaw who was pretty useless, told him that the cable had to be DVI-D compatible (it should be, I've used it with Bell HD boxes before without issue), then told him to use component.
What you guys say? Also, Shaw is super short on boxes, has no spares according to them. Idiots!

Sounds like a Shaw box issue. You could try the old flip the HDFury2 switch back and forth trick but I suspect your customer won't want to do that every time they want to watch TV.

Yeah, I've told the customer to switch to satellite, but he has one of those bootleg satellites, and is waiting for his hacked HD box from them.

Update: Shaw told the customer that he had to have a DVI-D cable. I'm using a generic DVI cable store bought locally, and haven't had any other issues with other boxes with these cables. Shaw's tech support is full of crap, right?

I had the same issue with my bell hd box a year ago.
I actually had a techican come out and check things through and it ended up being the DVI output on the box which was the issue.

Hey Curt, we had another customer tell us his HDFury stopped working after an automatic update on his Shaw box. I'm better ( as is HKMod ) that the next update may fix the issues.
