Got the first email from this site through gmail today, looks like you're back on the "ok" list now...

I just tried to switch my notifications to my gmail address and must have done something wrong. Now I can't log in to my original username. (jkruger)

I don't know what to say... I've never not gotten @curtpalme.com emails at my gmail address even when we were on dozens of blacklists. Maybe you need to add @curtpalme.com to your safe email address list or something. Maybe you've marked one of the messages as junk once by mistake (Very easy to do - the button's right beside the 'delete' button in gmail).

Well it's nearly 2 months later and I just spent some time going through a few hundred of the bounced emails from our last newsletter and I can confidently now say that nobody seems to be blacklisting us anymore.
There were a few stragglers that continued to blacklist (after verifying the bounces from 2 newsletters ago) so I wrote to them all personally asking that they manually remove us from their blacklists. Most notable in the last was Verizon.net and Earthlink.net. It woudl seem that once you get added to their blacklists they don't automatically remove you after a month or two like everywhere else - you stay on permanently! What a bunch of bozo's.

I was about to create a new post asking why my e-mail notification stopped working. After reading this I checked my GMAIL SPAM folder and there they were! Don't know why.

I use gmail too and find it too easy to click on the "REPORT SPAM" button by mistake instead of "DELETE" (they're right beside each other). If you do that, then all your future notifications will go to you junk mail box. If too many people do that then NOBODY in gmail will get notifications because gmail tags it as spam for everyone!
UPDATE: I went and checked my gmail spam folder and noticed a bunch of legit mail from different @curtpalme.com addresses are going there now. Annoying!

I know this is a really old thread, but I thought I would mention that the company I use for hosting has been great. It's Hurricane Electric, www.he.net . The thing they do differently, and that would have prevented this entire mess, is that the mail server uses your domain's IP address for sent mail. I.e. my email that I send has my domain's IP address as the originating machine, so any other accounts on my shared server that send spam do not cause problems for my email or domain. I've been with them for years upon years and only had a couple small hiccups, all of which were taken care of readily. And calling for support gets a human right away.
Anyway, if you're not having problems now, you might not have the energy to change. But if you get the motivation, check it out. I have really basic needs so use the $10/mo starter host accounts. They have everything up to dedicated racks, and have an awesome data center with peering agreements in place.
And no, I don't have any connection to them beyond being a satisfied customer.
Edit: To clarify, the mail server that you use is mail.yourdomain.com, and only you use that mail server. It uses the same IP address as your domain.
