Yes ,plugged in. I don't have the power supply for the other little box that came with the fury plugged in; maybe I should try it. I changed the position of the switch on the side of the fury and the ticking seems to have stopped but the picture is rolling. In help mode with the Blu-ray running the test pattern scatters every second or so also.
I'm so confused.

Describe the way you have it connected. It sounds to me that you have a sync problem. Are you using RGBHV or are you trying to just use the 4 connections on the RGB1 board.

Blu-ray hdmi to hdfury2,
Little short cable that came with fury to gamma booster that came with fury,
Same little short cable again to box 2220,
Break out cable (vga to 5 wire RGBHV to inputs on ampro 4600. 5 inputs, undisturbed in adding Blu-ray and fury.
Box 1040 if I remember the number correctly is on order to move picture sideways in the interest of centering and maximizing tube face.
Note:picture was stable and watchable untill addition of hdfury and Blu-ray player. Blu-ray player is new and so goes into first setup mode when turned on and how to get it out of setup mode eludes me without being able to see the screen; sync should be the same in setup mode?
Interesting thought: I should pull the gamma booster out of the circuit to see if it makes a difference?
uhh that shouldn't be messing with the vertical sync should it?

You sound like you have way to many devices in your signal chain.

What's a box 2220?

What's a box 2220?

The box 2220 is supposed to "transcode" component (RBG) to RBG (RBGHV)
I wondered why I needed so many boxes too.Is this the sort of problem the cable driver is supposed to address???????

Sounds like a great idea. Any suggestions on how to read the menu to adjust that.

Try this: Do you have an RGBHV cable for the HDFury2? IF so get a BNC T adaptor and hook the HDFury2 to RGBS, T'ing the H+V leads together.

Ever notice how impossible it is to remember every little thing when describing anything? I forgot to mention that the breakout cable (VGA to RBGHV) connects the box 2220 which is located behind me in the next room to the projector for a total of about 15 feet. Weak signal might turn the ampro into a big heavy clock. May I assume that other people have had this problem to the extent that a "cable driver" is the cure?
This would be a whole lot easier if the fury had the opposite sex output connector.

Stop by a local computer store and grab a gender changer for $5. I use them all the time.

All right just try this. Bluray>Fury>projector. Nothing else. If you have the Fury external power supply use it.

Well that did make a difference. Used only the cables that came with the fury. The picture is stable except that it's green only, no red ,no blue. Ok hooked up the little power supply, plugged in the power supply, plugged in the projector again and was greeted by a flash from the ground pin from the projector plug. Fury was warm but cooled off. I'm pretty sure the power supply got shorted through the ground pin. The plug on the power supply is not polarity sensitive : both plugs are the same size. My meter won't reach into that little itty bitty plug that goes into the fury but when an arc happens one time only I suspect strongly that something has blown. I tried the other power supply with the opposite polarity and the same thing happened. Any thoughts?
Thanks

You fried your HDFury2? The center pin on the HDFury2 is negative (-). try a paperclip end to stick down in the power supply.

Your picture would have been green only if you has the HDFury2 set to YUV and not RGB

Switched to RGB. I now have colour, picture, and no arc. When I say arc I mean the type of arc you get when you trip a circuit breaker in your panel. WTF made the arc. All seems right at this moment.

Did you even read the instructions that came with your Fury2.
OK forget about the projector for now and hook up the fury to your PC monitor and see if it works there and make sure it's set to RGB.
You're giving AmPro owners a bad name Laughing

If that doesn't work, just use the box 1020 or whatever you have and run component to it.

Problem seems to be solved except I'm scratching my head over what made the arc and why it happened once only with each power supply.
Moving on now to figure out the best way to connect the sound.
Thanks
PS anyone had a bit of experience with optical cables?

I would consider 5 channel analog hookup....unless your receiver bitstreams the new codecs.
