Hi guys,

We have had a few people tell us that some of the Bluray players reset their HDMI outputs every time they power up. Ordinarily that's not an issue with a regular TV except when you are using an HDFury1/2 or a Moome card/box in your projector and DO NOT want 1080p full HD output.

You may want 1080i or 720p from your Bluray or upscalling DVD player and if it resets on power up it will read the EDID in the HDMI link and set its output to 1080p because it sees the HDFury1/2 and Moome cards/Ext boxes as 1080p displays.

List your players model number and wether or not it has this issue.

I'll start:

Model number / Resets HDMI resolution settings after power cycle?
(YES=BAD, NO=GOOD )

may have the same issue

Remember:
YES is BAD, that means is DOES NOT remmber the HDMI resolution settings after being turned off and back on again.
NO is GOOD, that means it DOES remember the HDMI resolution settings after being turned off and back on again.

Let's see how many Bluray/upscalling DVD players we can list.

LG BH100 / NO (sort of)

It will remember the setting provided it can read the EDID of the display to see it is valid. If it can't get to it, it will "fall back". My Lumagen "tells" the BH100 that the only thing it supports is 1080p/24 and 480i. So, if the BH100 cannot verify the 1080p/24, it falls back to 480i (yes you read that correctly, the BH100 will do 480i over HDMI).

LG BH100 is as Dave says the BH200 is similar . With my lumagen it will default to 60p unless i tell the lumagen to only use 24p. the BH100 only outputs 24p for BD i have not tested what it does with Sd DVD.
