Hi with a marquee 8500 or 9500 and the moome with gamma control, will there be anything else needed between a sony bd 550 blu- ray and the projector?Other than the HDMI cable?

I would still use a VP that has the ability to use timing controls, there are too many post recently of pictures and ringing of the marquee with internal Moome cards. Time posted this problem just a little while ago.oops that was with the moome external... but look at this thread..

I think he means a DVDO VP 50 HD Video processor.

http://www.anchorbaytech.com/products/systems/vp50.php

The DVDO® iScan™ VP50 is a high-definition video processor and A/V hub that converts standard definition, high definition (including 1080p) and PC signals from your DVD player, HD-DVD player, Blu-ray Disc player, HD DVR, game console or PC to any output resolution between VGA and 1080p, including popular HDTV resolutions such as 720p and 1080i.

The VP50 serves as your complete A/V hub, providing audio/video switching that simultaneously eliminates A/V lipsync and allows a one wire connection to display for all of your video needs.

Yepp john is right get the PJ set it up and deal with issues and your wallet later Very Happy

the VP 50 is over priced I think, look for a used Lumagen HDP or HDQ. they are always floating around.

That thread was from 2 years ago way before Moome's current VIM-FULLHD. I would just keep it simple like 99% of people do:

Blu-ray player -> HDMI cable -> VIM-FULLHD card in the projector

That's it.
