I tried to insert my son's PS3 into the theater last weekend, and experienced something odd. Using the Digital Video Essentials BluRay disk, the picture would blink on for three seconds and blink off for four seconds; blink on; blink off; etc., etc.

I'm running from the PS3 into a Lumagen VisionHDP into a Moome card in a Marquee projector, using a two meter cable from Blue Jeans Cable.

Is this an HDCP handshake issue?

Is the PS3 set to output 1080p or 1080i? If it's outputting 1080P you might have issues. Try seeting it to 1080i and see what the projector thinks of that.

I know nothing about your projector as I have an NEC so Marquee guys need to chime in, but depending on the Marquee 8500 you have it might not like 1080p. 1080i is easier on the projector anyways, so it's worth trying a different resolution.

To change the output:

- go to settings (little suitcase symbol 2nd from the left)
- display settings
- video output settings (it will tell you right underneath what it is outputting - current resolution 1080p) - note you won't change anything until you go past this stage.
- if you want to change it hit the X and select your setup and resolution.

Hope this helps.

Current Projector Marquee9501LC with PS3 (BLu-Ray) at 1080P LOVE IT! Screen is an Elunevision 120" 4:3 (2.4 gain - no hotspots). (also own a NEC 9PG+)

I will have to check on the resolution setting. I know its not set to 1080p, however, because the plasma won't take a 1080p signal and that is where he usually runs it.
