This probably wont work either as the cards marry the receiver as stated above. You could try a valid card but probably wont work but you never know. Your just trying to get into the menu. Location of the receiver doesn't matter so someone else's dish wont help at all.There is another option but really shouldnt be discussed on here. I'll do a little experimenting later.

Let me know if you can find a work around ! I got one and it worked fine until I left it unplugged to power for a year ?

Cant you bring up a menu and select no dish? What cant you do or what does the onscreen say?

No display at all. Will have to check the power supply. Was working OK before storage. Tried resetting the card but no luck...

Pull the card, hook up to tv, plug it in and see if you get "Please insert a valid card".

My dad and I had a couple of TS360's, so I knew about needing an access card - any access card, old or new, active or not - just to be able to get the receiver to fully boot so you can access the menus and turn off the DirecTV part of the receiver... But the last post about it being dead until it was plugged into the wall outlet for 18 hours... Now, THAT'S weird.

Hmmm wonder if the dead one I have need to be plugged in? I have VCR's like that. Dead for 12 hours then they'll work for years. JVC's usually.

This probably wont work either as the cards marry the receiver as stated above. You could try a valid card but probably wont work but you never know. Your just trying to get into the menu. Maybe it will work even if the card is not married. Ecrabb said it worked for him....
Did you try the boot sequence that was in the link that jkruger posted?

OK this is downright strange. I left mine plugged in for about 6-7 hours and now it works. Before it looked dead to the world...

Heads-up to everyone.
The link that jkruger posted on how to reset the TS360 has a virus. My Norton Antivirus gave me a warning and wouldn't let me access the site.
Wierd, I've been to satelliteguys before - but it didn't like this visit.

Plugged mine into power and 6 hours later I checked and all is working now ? Before that when I plugged it in it appeared
there was no power at all. Not really sure how long it took to come back to life though ....

Plugged my dead one into power and got a relay going click click click....It was annoying so I unplugged it. I'll try again later.

Never did get that one going but I've determined it's a power supply fault.
The Direct TV card arrived. It worked like a charm. Allowed me to set it for no dish.
Samsung did a great job of designing these boxes. You can turn ATSC, NTSC, NTSC cable and I'll guess Satelite all without haveing to manually switch inputs! All you have to do is sit there and mindlessly flick the channels! It's great!
Now why didn't someone else come up with this idea and impliment it in say a TV set!?
Only issue so far though. The ATSC tuner isn't very sensitive. I'm doing a comparison to the PHD205 since they both offer 1080i over RGB output.
