|
|
I've noticed that when either refreshing the forum or when it goes back to the post/index after posting a message, I get a 'network timeout' message, maybe 2-4 times a day. Seems to mainly be happening in the last month or so. Is this happening to anyone else?

I haven't had that problem, Curt... But, I have noticed occasionally that it will take much longer than normal to load the "Forum Index" page or even a thread. It's usually pretty short-lived, and everything is back to normal. I only notice it maybe once a day or so - at least, that's how often it's happening to me. I've been on the forum a little less, though lately.

I also have the problem. At home, and at work.

Could this be related to the "400 not found" error I et every time I post on my fathers PC? It happens every tme I post a reply and I must refresh the browser (firefox) to get past it.

Hmmm no big issues here and I'd say I use the forum fairly often.
I haven't noticed any big slow downs.

Same thing here with Firefox. About 2-4 times a day.

Don't know if it was just my own network or browser, but for about 4 or 5 minutes this morning starting around 9:44 or 9:45 CST, the site was unreachable. Even the home page @ curtpalme.com was unreachable - i.e., not just the forum.
FYI.

I subscribe to a service that consistently pings our server every 15 minutes or so. For the first time in many months it gave me an error today:
Quote: | http://www.curtpalme.com/uptime.txt returned "success".
It was last reached by Uptime at 2009-01-12 17:11:13 (Eastern Time (New York)).
Currently our database thinks it is 2009-01-12 17:18:31.In other words, your server has been unreachable for approximately 7 minutes.
Does this mean your server was down? No. Our server could have lost ITS network connection. Or there could have been some problem on the wider Internet.
Does this mean your server was actually unreachable for all of those minutes? No. We only sweep every 15 minutes or so. |
Kal

You know, when this first got posted I only experienced one or two incidents per week, but now its like every day. In fact, I find myself copying why I write just in case it get's lost trying to post. And now I find myself double-posting because of it (cleaning up afterwards by deleted the exact copy).
I do not know if its the ISP (DNS?), or something else. But, it seems to only be happening on this forum/website.

Kal, is the forum on a dedicated server?
