|
I have a Schudel curved screen, that i got from a guy who remodeled Steven Tyler's house in california. he had the screen and projector in his garage for months and sold both of them to me for $150.
I love the screen, it just looks cool especially from the back i will post pictures, but was curious if anyone has heard of the manufacturer.
cannot find ANYTHING on the internet about it.

Cool looking screen, do you have a picture of the projector? What size is the screen, it looks like a nice torus.
welcome to the forum,
Erik

Well, the big $$ they would have had to dish out to be allowed to call themselves official supplier to the 1984 Olympics got them far, huh?

Abstract
A reflector construction is disclosed. A semi-rigid reflector having a curved configuration includes a front reflecting surface and an opposite back surface. A semi-rigid backing has a peripheral margin substantially co-extensive with the periphery of the reflector. The peripheral margin of the backing projects forwardly with respect to the remainder of the backing. The remainder of the backing has a curved configuration generally approximating the curved configuration of the reflector. The peripheral margin of the backing is bonded to the periphery of the back surface of the reflector. The remainder of the backing is thus spaced from the reflector, and the reflector and the backing in combination provide a substantially rigid structure.
Patent number: 4155625
Filing date: Dec 1, 1977

Yeah, I think he was... As in, they were the "official supplier" back then and don't even exist today and nobody even knows where they went!
I don't care about the screen! Tell us more about the FLW blocks!
Available for sale? Material?

FINE! since no-one cares about the screen on a crt projector forum, i will talk about the damn tiles!
The block pattern is from the Ennis-Brown house in LA california designed by Frank Lloyd Wright built out of cement in 1923.
I made a master out of wood from the original blueprints that i have scans of.
made molds of the master and cast them out of hydrocal a very hard plaster.
I make each one and color them myself, a lot of work went into this project.
Since i make them two at a time they are very expensive!
So if you plan on buying one and making your OWN mold, then you have to pay for my time and effort, i think that is fair.
1-5 $75 each
6-10 $50 each
11-20 $30 each
21-50 $20 each
51- and up $10 each

Is the screen 96" wide or diag? Have you gotten the G70 setup yet? I can't tell you much about your screen but it looks like a silver torus screen like the ones used on old CRT FPTV's, I bet it has excellent gain and would work good for use with ambient light.
