Hi,
How can I teach the TSU-501 3-digit cable channel codes, like 636 for station icon buttons. I have tried with no luck . Buckeye cable system.
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Assuming you have your station icons set up, the easiest way is to record a macro (hold the mode button down), choose the icon, and then navigate to the device with your numbers (I have a cable card in my TV so use my TV numbers but more normal is to have a cable box device) press the 6 then 3 then 6, then stop and macro again to go on to next channel icon. Select USE when done.
Alternately you could right click on the icon box in the edit program, properties, and add IR codes (assuming your device is available in TSU-301 and has correct codes) or links to the numbers (learn if you have to but mosr are already available in configuration files on remote central or in TSU) but that takes longer if you have a lot of channels to program

You beat me to it. The only thing I would add is that if you have a computer macros are a little easier (for me anyway) to set up with the freedomedit software.

Tim - isn't that (setting macros up in the software) the same as my alternate above? If so I really do find that it is easier to set the macros from the remote itself (quicker since you avoid a lot of clicking and scrolling) especially when you have something like a whole bunch of channels to program. So I do that and then backload the configuration into the software. If not maybe I am missing what macros are (to me they just represent the programming that goes into the properties)
I admit I find doing everything else easier from the software.
Also don't know if your supply is running out or not but your shipping comment made me wonder so I ordered a fourth. Now I can have his and hers remotes in the Family Room! I separately found out that it is safe to turn a Marquee projedtor on / off using the outlet (provided you set the Util:preferences to Auto On to on) So in my case and maybe others the obstacle to using it in my theater room is gone (I have an IR controlled outlet powering projector and do not routinely need to do anything other than power off/on

Well I got my 3x TSU-501's this morning,
My Hat is off to Tim, He emailed me while on vacation to let me know mine had shipped on the 7th,
So that is 6 days to get to Switzerland, WOW
Excellent service, fast shipping, plus the price, you can't go wrong.
Now time to go and have some fun setting them up.
Cheers

I, too, have this problem with the startup page
| TechToys wrote: |
Open it in NeoEdit and verify that the startup page is correct.

Did this and it is just as I want it.

Save it using NeoEdit (not NeoHacker) under a different filename.

Not a good idea. The second you save something in NeoEdit or FreedomEdit the startup page is changed back to plain device-listing.
| Quote: |
Close NeoEdit and open it with Freedom Edit.
Freedom edit doesn't reset startup pages because you can download any file from remote central and they work perfectly on the 501. |
Not right, at least not for me. Any ncf-file opened in Freedomedit gets a reset startpage once you accept the conversion to open the file.
If anyone have a solution for this I would be eternally grateful.

Take a look at the file I posted above (download it and change extension and run it in the emulator.
The "start" page in my file, assuming you use the power buttons, is the jump at the end
Remote stays on the jumped page, or whatever page you were on when you last used it.
Maybe I don't understand the start page comment; the device page is always the listing of devices and you can never change it (well it changes automagically and just reflects the devices you have); even what you get by default is the listing of devices.
You are right that when opening the file in the Freedom Edit software it starts at the device page; but that is not how the remote works; it "starts" where you left it.

I see I removed a quote that make my post easy to missunderstand. The issue is when changing the startpage in NeoHacker. It is possible to use NeoHacker to change your startpage. You make a device that you want to be your startpage, hten open the ncf in NeoHacker and tell it to use this device as startpage. When you open this hacked file in NoeEdit it will stay with this new startpage until you save it (a save will make NoeEdit or Freedomedit make a defualt startpage). So if you change the file in NeoHacker you kan have a customized startpage on a ProntoNeo by opening this in NeoEdit and program it without editing or saving anything (confusing?)
So to the issue; FreedomEdit changes the startpage simply by opening the file. wilson asked if this is possible to do, and the answer from TechToys does not seem to work as expected.
The remote start where you lef it, thats right, but when pressing the Device-button it takes you to a dull default device-listing instead of a customized startpage/mainpage. This is possible to do with NeoHacker and NeoEdit, but as far as I can tell, not with FreedomEdit.
Is there a way to get around this? I would like to make a "main-page" that I can access with the device-button that gives me my "functionality-areas" (watch tv, watch DVD, listen to music....) rather than a list of device-names with the plain rounded frame around.

I don't have an answer but I understand your problem now. In my case I have to hit either power button (which has jumps to my start page if remote is not already there - and can cycle equipment depending on it's state), or press the device button and scroll to the start page. And device is a hard button I don't believe you can program. You could devote one of the power buttons to be a jump to the start page and use that instead of device but that seems a waste of a hard button

I guess that would be a good solution. After all, I have not grown in to the habit of using the device-button in less than a week with the TSU501

I use gimp. Make image on the pixelsize you want (biggest for entire screen is 100x129). I use greytone, then posterize to 4 levels before save.

Does anyone have a functioning pronto or NEO code for component video 2 selection on a Panasonic 56wx51ce CRT RPTV?

Thanks Tom, I've posted this request on a few forums, including Remotecentral already.
I was kinda thinking there might be more tsu-501 users here at curtpalm.com rather than at the '501 sectoin of remotecentral.

Do you have the original remote and if so is this the only code the 501 couldn't learn ?

I have the original remote, but it never had any discretes - it could only toggle the tv through it's inputs.
I used a JP-1 Radio Shack '1994 remote to derive the discrete input selections, but it never included component video 2 in it's library - so I was out of luck.
I was thinking remote of the'501's caliber deserves all the discrete selection codes I can feed it.

Sorry all, have a very basic question. Am looking to get a Universal remote to control my Pioneer 428XG, Onkyo 875, Pioneer DVD and a Holfi CD player. I know that for the Logitech Harmony there is a support page that gets u there quickly. Is it difficult for me to set up this remote? How difficult is it to get some custom logos and pages?
